Chapter Thirteen

"How are you two going anyway?"
"Good. He called me this afternoon, as you know, and he asked me out on a date tonight."
"Wow! Way to go Sam! I suppose you have to get ready then."
"I suppose."
"Knock 'em dead Sam!"
"I'll try."
"Don't worry. You will."
"Thanks Maddy."
"Have fun Sam."
"Bye."
"Bye." I turned away from the phone. Trey was right in front of me. "All unpacked Trey?"
"Yeah."
"So what do you want to do?"
"I don't know- maybe et something to eat?"
"Sure." We left my room and went to the kitchen. "You wouldn't happen to know any places where Amy's brother Brett hangs out, would you?" I asked Trey.
"No, why?"
"He's not home yet."
"Is that bad?"
"Well, considering he was supposed to be home a half an hour ago and he isn't yet."
"That's bad?"
"They're getting worried. I was talking to Amy while you were unpacking, and she said that he didn't have anywhere else to go after he left Sam's. I told her that maybe he had a sudden stop or something." I got out two plates, glasses and silverware. "Amy also said that if he isn't home in about foryt-five minutes, her mom was going to call the police. I told her that she should call me as soon as something happens."
"Why was he over at Sam's?"
"He was delivering the tickets to Sam."
"You both got some?"
"Yeah."
"What are the tickets to?"
"A concert."
"What concert? And I noticed that you had more than one thing in your hand, besides the ticket, that had a string attatched to it. What was it?" I opened the fridge to get a can of pop.
"You are very sharp. Help yourself to anything you want. And it was a backstage pass."
"What row are you in?"
"First."
"Who's performing?"
"A new group. They're my age. Hanson. Ever heard of 'em?"
