Virginia Lee (Davis) Sabatke
born: 9/27/34
died: 4/30/79
The first daughter of Floyd and Eva Davis was born on September 27, 1934 in Longdale, Oklahoma. She grew up and went to school in Watonga, Oklahoma. She eventually died there.
My sister, Sandi, and I lost one of the most important people in our lives, our mother, to cancer on April 30, 1979. This picture was taken July 1978 before Mom got sick and started losing weight.
One of the sadist things for me about this is we found out Christmas Day of 1978 that she had cancer and that there wasn't anything they (the doctors) could do for her because the cancer had completly spread through her body. To this day it is still hard for me to get excited about Christmas.
Our mother was one of the best people that you would ever want to know. She worked hard all of her life, and had many friends. I miss her everyday. I know for a fact that she is still with me even though I can't see her. She is my guardian angel, she's with me where ever I go. When my daughter had her wreck, Mom was there. Ginni and I both saw her.
When Mom died, she left behind a husband, 2 daughters, 2 grandchildren, her mother, a sister, & numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, neices & nephews. I know that I can never bring her back to this earth to be with me, but I find comfort in knowing that she is my guardian angel. I know that she would be proud of me today. If she were here, she'd tell me so, but she still shows me in several ways.
To this date, mom still has her daughters, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Mom, we miss you very much and one day I will see you again. Thank you for being there for Ginni during her accident and keeping her safe. I love you..
One of my best memories of my mom is the way she always did my birthdays. You see, my birthday is on Christmas Eve. Mom would always make for sure that one corner of the living room did NOT have anything to do with Christmas in it. My birthday presents were always wrapped in birthday paper, and Christmas presents were in Christmas paper. We didn't open our Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve like lots of people do, just because that was my birthday and she didn't want to take anything away from that being my day... Thanks Mom, we still do that today....
9-27-00: Mom would of been 66 years old today. Even though it's been 21 1/2 years since her passing, I still miss her every day. Sometimes it's really hard too. Mom, I know that you are watching over me, I just wanted to say that I still love you very much.
Mom has another great-grandson now. Ty was born on 5-3-00 and he's absolutely beautiful. For those of you that have been reading my pages and watching the updates, Ty belongs to my beautiful daughter Ginni.
Dian's kids are growing and growing... ShyAnne is 4 years old now and has started in pre-kindergarden this year. Joe-Joe is 3 and 900% pure boy.
