AN EXPLANATION OF THE TWENTY CLAUSES

Clause 4.18 - TRAINING

The requirements of this Clause are very straightforward.

Your procedures must ensure that you identify the training requirements of your staff. (This could be at an annual review, or from recommendations of managers, etc) The procedures must ensure that the training is provided and recorded (see also Clause 4.16 - Quality Records)

Staff should be assigned tasks for which they are competent as a result of :

The training should cover knowledge required to perform the job. In addition, it is useful to record the training in the relevant quality procedures.

Where it is a legal requirement to use properly trained/qualified staff (e.g. for gas installations, electrical work, specialist welding, etc) this training should be included and reviewed for applicability and validity, etc.
