The next week, I didn’t see Tay at all. He didn’t even call me. He and his brothers had been so busy since the concert at the mall, they had no time for anything else. Everyone had begun to notice the great talent of “Hanson.” Mercury Records accepted the brothers’ demo tape immediately, and now they were making plans for a CD, and an MMMBop CD single. Girls lined up in front of the Hansons’ door waiting for them to come outside. Everywhere they went screaming fans mobbed them. It seemed they had forgotten about me. But, as usual, I was probably overeacting. The FlyGirls hadn’t preformed or practiced in a while. Although we were scheduled for a tour of the USA and Canada in the fall. But that was a long way away. My phone hadn’t rung in ages. I hadn’t even seen most of my friends since the concert. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. I turned down my music, and darted down the stairway. It was Claire and Morgan. They had come over to see if I could go to TulsaLand (the funnest place on Earth). I asked my parents and they said it was ok. We ran upstairs to get ready.
“I hope we see some hot guys,” said Morgan.
“Yeah, that would be really wicked,” agreed Claire. I didn’t say anything. There was only one guy for me, Tay.
“Ya know Gwen, you should really find another guy. Taylor’s a star now, he doesn’t have time for a relationship,” said Claire. Again, I didn’t speak. I sort of knew that she was right. Maybe I would find someone else at TulsaLand. I probably should just forget about Tay. But for some reason, I didn’t believe myself. There was no way Tay’s stardom could change our relationship.
