We arrived at TulsaLand at 5:00 pm. We decided to eat first since we were all hungry. We ate at the coolest restaurant in TulsaLand. It had a dance floor, and live entertainment, not to mention great food. We got there a couple of hours before the next live show. I wondered who was preforming that night. We sat down at the front table and ordered some food. After about one and a half hours, the restaurant started filling up with people. Then the manager of the restaurant introduced the entertainment for the night. It was Hanson. I was very very very very surprised to hear this. Tay came out and introduced their song MMMBop. Tay didn’t even seem to car that I was there. After they finished the song, they said thank you and went backstage. They had just ignored me. Even Zac who had been one of my best friends since I was 5 years old had just blown me off as if I was a total stranger. Morgan and Claire left to go on rides, but I was too depressed to go with them. I stayed until the restaurant was empty. Then, I sneaked backstage and found Tay. He and his brothers were packing up their equipment.
“Hey Tay,” I said quietly.
“Hey.” he said.
“We need to talk,”I told him. Zac and Ike looked up at us curiously.
“Outside,”I said sternly. When we got outside, I noticed that it was darker than usual. It looked as though it was going to rain. I leaned against a wall.
“Tay, I don’t think.....”I started.
“That we should see eachother anymore?” finished Tay. I was surprised. He had been thinking the same thing.
“Yes, I don’t think we should see eachother anymore,” I replied.
“Alright, if that’s the way that you want things to be,” said Tay with a sigh. I was on the brink of tears. Then, it began to mist. I held out my palm and let the light spray moisten my hand. The mist turned into a heavy rain. But for some reason, neither of us could walk away from eachother. We just stood there in the pouring rain. To break the silence I yelled,”GOODBYE TAYLOR HANSON, HAVE A NICE LIFE!”
“You know what Gwen,” he screamed back in my face, “I think that you’re just jealous of how much better Hanson is doing than the FlyGirls!” That made me incredibly mad. I couldn’t believe that he had the nerve to say that to me. I walked right up to him and shouted,”I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!” By then, we were both drenched. We stood about an inch apart from eachother, when something pulled us together. We stood there in the cold, pouring rain kissing for what seemed to be an eternity. We realized that nothing else mattered at that moment, but us. It didn’t matter how popular Hanson would be, or how popular the FlyGirls had been. It didn’t even matter if we never saw eachother again. All that mattered to us was how we felt about eachother at that very moment.
