Dominique and I talked for another couple of hours and then the rest of the FlyGirls started arriving. Vanessa played the drums, Dominique the keyboard, and Christen on the bongo drums. I was the lead singer. Morgan played the tambourine, and Claire sang with the keyboard.
We all gathered in the garage. Then we all sang the first notes to our hit song, ”Look at Me.” It sounded awful without Morgan and Claire. Then, through the dusty garage window, I caught a glimpse of Taylor. He knocked politely on the door. I opened it. He had thoughtfully brought all four of us lemonade.
“Thanx Taylor, ”I said. He leaned in close to me and whispered in my ear, ”Don’t forget call me Tay.” His words made me feel all tingly inside. As he spoke, I could feel his warm breath blowing against my ear. I looked up and caught Dominique throwing me a dirty look. To break the tension I asked, ”Anybody hungry?” Everyone replied, “yeah.” So we decided to order Chinese.
“Tay, can you stay?” I asked. He smiled and said that’d be great, so we all ran inside. When the food came, we all pigged out. Then it was time for everyone to go home. Tay stayed until everyone was gone. He then pulled a small, crumpled piece of paper out of his pocket and gave it to me.
