San Francisco, Shoreline Amphitheater
Well it started when my friend ashley found out that Hanson would
be in San francisco on the 15th of july. we started freaking, spazzing,
etc. (what any normal fan would do) when it was OK'd by our parents
we got the tickets and two months later we were on our way to San
Francisco. three hours away from where we lived. when we got to
S.f. it was sooooo hard to get into a hotel because it was literally
packed with fans. Everywhere on the freeway there were signs in
the back of peoples cars that said "If you love Hanson Honk!" and
the traditional "Hanson Rules" on the way to the Shoreline Amphitheater
Ashley mom kept teasing us that they were probably at Great America
at the moment just to see our reation. it was still a couple hours
before the actual concert would start. when we got in with our cameras
hidden safely in our bags it was total mania! there were dads who
had t-shirts on that said #1 dad of the #1 hanson fan! it as pretty
awsome. the weird thing for us was that we knew that hanson was
only a few yards away from us instead of few thousand MILES away
from us. my nerves were so strained! i had never in my life been
surrounded by so many Hanson Fans at once! Where we live there are
only a total of about 5 hanson fans! the rest of our school aren't
to appreciative of them! Ash and me found our seats and we were
so amazed at how close to the stage we actually were! there were
some warm up bands that were there just to keep everyone occupied
before the actual show began. after about 2 hours of just siiting
there and watching other fans ashley ad i heard this faint (but
clear to us)guitar sound coming from behing the stage! we both just
jump right up out of our seats at the same time as if it was just
an automatic fast reflex. we were screaming like crazy!(all part
of the fun of course!) there were only a few other groups of people
that knew what was going on. then eveyone else caught on to it fast!
the two of us knew that those guitar sounds were coming from ISAAC
HANSON himself! it was the beginning of Gimme' Some Lovin'! without
any warning the curtain covering the stage just fell to the ground!
there standing before our eyes was none other than those blonde
babes, Hanson! they looked sooooooooooooooo fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
woooooooowww!!!!!!!!!!! everybody was screamiong like crazy! aaahhhh!
my ear were ringing! the show was great! i love the special effects
that they had going! it was so cool! when they sung the song SummerTime
Blues, they had each section sing the chorus alone to see who did
it the loudest! the spotlight was on us! i don't remember who did
it the loundest because everybody was really loud. one of the most
funny things that happened that night was that in one of the songs
Taylor took over zac's spot ont the drums while Zac used the water
gun on the crowd, but when Zac went backt to the drums taylor was
running back to the keyboards and all of the sudden.........plop!
Tay fell right ont his bottom! he just slipped and fell over backwards
landing on his rear! oh well, it could have been worse! thankfully
he got right back up again with a littlw blush on his face and went
right back to playing where he left off. the crowd was in an uproar!
i could go on forever about that night but i won't! at the end of
the concert they told us how much they appreciated us coming out
to see them and they would like to come bak out again.......ETC.
After they left Ashley and i kept on looking back to seen if they
would come back outfor a third time !! but they didn't. i was so
dizzy from jumping up ad down! man, it felt like i was talking in
a bubble and it felt like that for about a week afterwards! YOu
could see on everyones faces that we were all worn out, but we coud go on all night!
> Ashley and i wanted to stay until everyone had left so
maybe the gaurds would let us meet the brothers, but Ashley's parents
were tired and wanted to sleep so we had to leave. that certainly
was the best day of my life! i can't wait to see them again someday!
> here's a poem i wrote about the concert a while ago.>
> What Time Cannot Erase>> On wednesday the 15th of July '98
> i could hardley even stand up straight
> we drove right passed the beautiful blue bay
> And dreamed of the Shoreline we'd be there that day
> Just a few short hours before the final event
> we tried to prepare ourselves for the screaming current
> Away from the critics and outcasts i feel
> and inward with those who share one commo appeal
> Standing in the hotel mirror
> the clock int eh corner says the time is getting nearer
> A final touch here and there
> We drove to the Shoreline, our perfection is mere
> Tears welling in my eyes cause such a strain
> And through my jittery teeth and wobbly legs
> my nerves were hard to contain
> As i get out of the car the soft breeze whips through my hair
> I glance up at the Shoreline and can't help but just stare
> Ticket i hand, your life is about to change
> Then you walk in and sizes, shapes, and personalities range
> We get into the main part of the Amphiteater, dind our seats
> Level 2 section 204 row C seat 22 and 23
> No one pays attention to the upcoming acts
> We're all just nervous to the max
> With no one realizing what's happening and a 1,2,3 GO
> the crowd of thousands id in for the fnal blow
> With no warning or announcement of whats about to take place
> OUr moment came that not even time can erase
> We jump out of our seats;the screams rise to the top of lungs
> Now the relief we craved has finally come
> The mouths of the fans were wide open and screaming
> I clasped my ears and they started ringing
> The decibels rose then became a ton
> That's when i knew the Show had begun.........
