~*Chapter 6*~

Later that day Taylor walked into Alyssa's room, where she was reading a thick book, he knew that she liked him, yet he was a bit apprehensive to ask her out. He'd never asked anyone out nevertheless gone out with anyone before! "Um, well, Alyssa, there's sorta this thing I gotta ask you," Taylor began.

"Go ahead," she asked looking up from her book, having a feeling she knew what Taylor was going to ask her.

"Well, I was wondering if you wanted to, um, you know, you out with me?" He asked quietly blushing furiously.

"Tay, has anyone ever told you that you look so adorable when you get embarrassed, and get all red?"

"No, they just make fun of me! Anyway, do you?"

"Yeah, what did you think I was going to say, no? Ike, and Zac told me your guys' whole scheme." Alyssa said slyly.

"They did?" Tay asked sheepishly.

"Yeah, I think it's pretty funny!"

Later that day Beth and Jake came over. Jake ran immediately over to Jessica, Avery, and Mackenzie. Zac greeted Beth at the door, and practically rammed her over. "HI BETH!"

"AAAAHHHH! Help! I'm being attacked!" she yelled.

"Zac! Get off her!" Ike yelled.

"Sorry, Beth!" Zac apologized.

"That's okay, Zac. Jeez, are you hyper 24/7?"

"Pretty much," Ike answered for him.

"I'm going upstairs to help Taylor and Alyssa with our lego castle." Zac said, leaving Isaac and Beth alone in the front hall.

"Do you want to go for a walk?" Isaac asked Beth. "I really don't know my way around here, yet, since we've only been here for one day."

"Sure, I'll show you around. This area is really secluded, though, so there's not much stuff around here."

"That's okay, in Tulsa, where we're from, the part that we live in isn't that lively, either." Isaac said. The two walked out of the house, and walked down the paved road. A few moments of silence passed by, and Ike decided that now was the time to make his move. "Um, Beth, I have something that I want to ask you." He started.

"Go ahead." Beth said kindly, hoping he would say what she wanted him to.

"Well, see I was wondering, maybe if you wanted to go out with me?" he asked shyly.

"I'd love to!" Beth exclaimed.

"Cool. Taylor didn't say I was going to ask you out, did he?"

"Well, actually he did. He also said that you and Zac asked Alyssa if she likes Taylor. Pretty sneaky!"

"It was all my idea!" Ike said proudly.

"So, what did Alyssa say?"

"Yes. I really hope this doesn't change anything. We've always had so much fun together, and if they broke up, would they still be friends, or would they just ignore each other?"

"I don't know. I don't know them that well. But for your whole family's sake, I hope that they stay together or are always good friends. I can see that your whole family loves her very much."

"Yeah, she's sorta like another sister to me." Ike said.

"So, anyway, Ike, I don't really know that much about you."

"What do you want to know?"

"I don't care… anything." Beth said.

"Well, let's see, my favorite color is green, my favorite movie is Star Wars, my favorite food is chunky peanut butter, I play guitar and piano, I like to sing, play basketball, roller hockey, rollerblading, play laser tag, and building lego castles. I know that's kind of kiddiesh, but it's really fun and stuff. And I like No Doubt, Aerosmith, Spin Doctors, and a bunch of other stuff. Now what about you?"

"Um, okay. My favorite color is silver, my favorite movie is Twister, my favorite food is pudding, I play classical piano, I like basketball, rollerblading, and sometimes I play a little football. I like No Doubt, too, as well as Alanis Morrisette, Mariah Carey, Jewel, and I kinda think that new group, the Spice Girls, I think? Their song is kinda cool." Beth informed him.

"Cool." The two of them walked on, talking about themselves, getting to know each other. When they returned to the Hanson's rented house, it was ten 'o clock at night. Beth figured her mom would be mad at her for staying out that late, so she decided to go home right away. Isaac walked her across their yards, and stood outside the front door.

"Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow, Ike." Beth said.

"Oh! Tomorrow we've got to go to the Dust Brothers' house, and I don't know when we'll be back. I don't know exactly how much time I'll be able to spend with you while we're here. Ike said.

"Oh…" Beth trailed off sadly.

"But whenever we're not in the studio, I'll try to spend all my time with you." Ike said trying to make her feel better.

"Yeah, well, I'll see you tomorrow." Beth finished.

"I'll call you as soon as I get home tomorrow." Ike added. Before Beth slipped in the door, Isaac gave her a light goodbye kiss. "Bye, talk to you tomorrow." Ike walked mopingly home, fearing that he wouldn't see Beth the entire time they were in LA.
