On this page I will tell you about myself and the most important people in my life: my family My name is Dan. I am 49 years old, married with three grown children, a wonderful son-in-law and a super grandson! I like playing my trumpet in my Church ( Olivet Wesleyan, Glassboro, N.J.) I also like italian water ice, chocolate marshmellow ice cream, kittens, my Suburu stationwagon and writting for boxing autographs. I work as a Driver for a County Nursing Home where I drive the residents to Doctor and medical appointmens, social activies. and just run errands where needed
I attended West Deptford High Schoool graduating in l967. I went to Penn-Wesleyan College in Allentown, Pa. where I graduated in 1972 with a Th.B and a B.S. in Bible. On my graduation day I received my draft notice to go for a physical! Of course I was onfused. Did God want me in the Minstry or not??? Well I failed the physical because of high protein in my urine. I didn't think too much more about it and went about my life with the doctor's words ringing in my ears "someday...in the future, you will need kidney dialysis or a transplant." When I told my family of this my brother Bruce said "I'll give you a kidney." I said"ok" and forgot about it. I went on to Pastor Churches in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New Jersey and never thought too much ore about it. In 1979 while Pastoring a Wesleyan Church in Levittown, Pa. I became critically ill with kidney disease and in 1980 I had to begin dialysis treatments. A week later my mother passed away unexpectedly. I was devestated and I took a medical leave from the Ministry and moved with my wife and three children back down to a small trailer my father owned in New Jersey. So as not to belabor the point I will just tell you that in 1981 I received a kidney, but it never really took and it rejected after 8 dfficult months. Life went on, I began driving a bus transporting senior citizens to doctor and hospital appointments. Then in 1990 I recieved another kidney very unexpectedly. I had given up waiting and this kidney matched so well the odds were overwhelming. It came from a young lady killrd on the New York Thruway. Well it took and here I am almost 9 years later still doing well and off kidney dialysis.
This is being updated by Dan's wife Marsha... Dan became very ill and rejected his transplanted kidney 1/10/00 and started back onto kidney dialysis. He has been in the hospital many times and for long stays over the last two years. Dan is now critically ill with severe heart and lung problems, along with the dialysis. I would ask that you please pray for Dan. If you are interested in knowing more about Dan, just write to his email at boxfan1@webtv.net and I will answer you. Thank you..... Dan passed away on Saturday June 29, 2002 at 1:22PM in south New Jersey... Dan was 52 years old.... Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for us... I will continue to keep Dan's page online but no changes will be made. Therefore, the information may not be correct... I will answer any mail that comes to Dan's email address... Thank you....
