Warnings:
These places are not patrolled by security, etc. Be careful of
running into others. These places are used for parties and
druggos sometimes. They are very well known. Go in a big group.
DON'T go there to vandalise. Don't start
destroying the place.
The rifle range is said to be in use on Tuesdays, Saturdays and
Sundays during the day. Avoid these days. Night time is fine all
the time.
Also take torches during the day as it gets pitch black
underground.
On the 6th time down there we discovered an old vagrant living in
the 1st building just after the 3 storey watch house. He is used
to people going down there all the time. Just dont try and destroy
his house as a member of one of our group did. (Good one Santa!)

Equipment:
At least one torch each with good batteries.
Comfortable shoes as there is a bit of walking to get there.

Description:
From Fishermans Rd, walk around the heads (Take the cliff path
not the seaside one) till you can make a straight line towards
the wind generator. North of the wind generator scout around till
you find a trench with rail tracks in it. Jump in and start
walking north. You will come across a 3 storey look out tower
with a cement arch over the trench. A large room joins onto it
on your right just before the tower. We found a ladies handbag
in this room. Go into the tower, stairs will greet you with rooms
at every flight. Excellent views from the lookouts on the 2nd and
3rd (top) stories.

Continue further north in the trench. You will come across a
single storey building on your right. 1st room had door shut, try
and open it, see what's in there? (Vagrants Room)
Further along the tunnel disappears into the hill. Follow it.
There are now two tunnels. Left and right. Go down the one on the
right. You will notice small rooms along the right hand wall of
the tunnel.
There are stairs here leading up and out to the gun emplacements.
Notice the bolts in the floor where they mounted the guns.
Come back down the stairs and go right. More stairs leading down.
This goes to two rooms where the ammunition was held. Small
passage leading behind both rooms.

Go back and down the other tunnel. This tunnel is very long. But
at the other end it is identically the same as the rooms,
emplacements you just visited except its at the end of the tunnel.
There are a variety of small roomed buildings near
the cliff face. Unless you want a walk, then I don't suggest
trying to explore these as they are pretty boring. EOF.
