This week in Indie-Guitar-Related children's books.

1. Where in the world is Joey Santiago?

YOU become the detective as you scour the globe for the mercurial ex-Pixie. (Hint: he's in Boston, probably).

2. I wish that I had Buck feet

Children learn to become comfortable with themselves in this examination of what one's own identity truly means. A young child wishes that he has the feet of REM's Pete Buck, thus making him free to do big scissor kicks in What's The Frequency, Kenneth? and Finest Worksong, before conceding that it would also involve constantly turning on and off the vibrato pedal whenever he did any of the stuff from 'Monster'.

3. Coxon in socks

A sprightly nonsense rhyme about the footwear of Blur's Graham Coxon, where he starts with staunchly British socks, then claims that he's always liked certain American socks and that he's sick of people trying to label his socks as one thing or another. Finally he explains that it's not about the socks but where your head's at.

4. Where the wild things Marr

A small boy dreams of working with The Smiths' Johnny Marr and so embarks on an adventure through sessions with Talking Heads and Bryan Ferry before finally encountering his hero during the making of the second Electronic album. Here he turns tail and flees as fast as his stubby little legs can carry him before Bernard Sumner can tell him how beneficial he found Prozac to be.

5. Me and the jolly Greenwood giant

After an indie-meets-prog-rock experiment goes horribly wrong, Radiohead's floppy fringed boy genius Jonny Greenwood is turned into a hulking 100 foot tall giant (although his waist measurement is still 22 centimetres). He uses his new-found size to combat evil throughout the land, pausing only to coax more exotic noises out of his guitar and play keyboard with the headstock.
