Chapter 2 ~Cookies~

Um , hi," Felicity said warily. "my name's Felicity Summers" "Nice to meet you Felicity" Reagan said cheerily "Are you flying to Tulsa to transfer, or is that your final destination?" Reagan asked "No, I'm staying in Tulsa with my aunt, so yeah, I guess that's my final destination, what about you?" "I'm transferring to another plane to go to New York to live with my mom, my dad just died a few weeks ago." Reagan said as her smile faded "Oh, I'm so sorry" Felicity said with sympathy. "It's OK, he wasn't the best person in this world to be alive." "Why is that?" "He used to hit my mom, and he drank a lot, the only reason I lived with him was because I felt sorry for him, I'm all he had, he's better off dead anyways, now he can't hurt himself or other people" Reagan started fiddling with the loose seatbelt and stayed quiet. "Well, anyways, off the sad subjects, do you live in Seattle?" "Yeah, I live there with my mom and step-dad" Felicity said as she eased into the conversation and felt more comfortable not talking about death. "Where's your dad?" Reagan asked "He lives in Detroit, I don't see him very much, but, I don't mind, my step-dad's always been around more then him, so I consider my step-dad, Gabriel, as my real dad." "Oh well that's good that you have someone there for you like that" Reagan said as she smiled "Yeah, sometimes I feel like I'm really lucky, because some people hate their step-father's and their dad's are never around." Felicity said with thought "Well, I just wanted to come and introduce myself to you, I'm gonna go back to my seat and try to get some sleep, maybe we'll talk again later." Reagan said as she got up and stretched her arms. "OK, " Felicity said. She watched as Reagan went back to her seat, smiled at Felicity one last time, shut her eyes and from what Felicity saw, fell into a deep sleep. Felicity decided that some sleep might help her spirits a little. She wasn't very thrilled when she found out she was going to Oklahoma, but she had gotten used to the fact that she would be sitting in some kind of nasty, broken down cabin all summer. She closed her eyes and when she woke up, she found the flight attendant shaking her shoulder a little bit and saying "Hi,sorry for waking you but it's dinner time. Would you like anything to drink with your meal?" "Um, yeah, can I have a Coke please?" Felicity said as she rubbed her eyes to get used to the light. "Yes, I'll get that right away" the stewardess said and she wobbled down the aisle as the plane hit some turbulence. Felicity glanced at her watched and saw that it was 6:30pm, she had slept for almost three hours. Usually her naps only lasted for about an hour, but since she was up all night packing and getting hyped about the trip, she had only gotten 4 and a half hours of sleep. She pulled her tray out from in front of her right as another stewardess set her food down. Cool, she thought Subway rocks She opened up her little bag of Lay's regular potato chip and ate one, Yuck, they're stale she said almost out loud. She returned the bag back to the plate and opened up the sandwich, and saw that it was turkey which was great, because that's the only kind of lunch meat she ate. When she was half-way through her sandwich and dying for a drink, the stewardess finally got to her seat with her Coke. Felicity looked at her like "Where were you!" And the lady gave her an I'm sorry look and walked off. When she had eaten the rest of her sandwich and had drunk the last drop of her Coke, she saw that it was 7:00 and realized the plane would be landing in about an hour. She also realized the time change and changed her watch to 9:00pm. She pulled her walkman out of her backpack and popped in a random tape. It was her tape with Save Ferris on it. When she was in the middle of listening to "Spam"(number 9), she started feeling the plane descending. Thank God, I'm finally here! She looked out the window and to her surprise, saw that Tulsa wasn't as small as she had expected. It wasn't until the captain voice boomed over the speaker "Welcome to Tulsa, we hope you have a wonderful time here or if you are transferring, have a wonderful time at your destination. Thank you for flying American Airlines. Felicity stuffed her walkman back in here backpack and jumped up, trying to be one of the first people off, she was very impatient and hated waiting for slow people. As she was walking in the little hallway to get actually into the airport, she heard this incredibly loud shrieking group. Felicity saw all of the signs as she walked into the airport too. It was amazing, there were at least a hundred girls with signs saying "Welcome Home Hanson!" Lucky guy, look at all these damn girls waiting for him! she thought. She spotted Brandy waiting for her in a chair, reading a People magazine "Hey hooker," Felicity said to her aunt "Hey slut," Brandy said back laughing. "Let's hurry and get to the car, these girls are driving me crazy." Brandy said "I know, they're so loud, and they're just waiting for some guy to get here." Felicity said with amazement "Yeah, lucky guy" Brandy said quietly, and smiling without Felicity noticing. They went to the baggage circle thing, and luckily for Felicity, her suitcase was the first out of there, so they got out of the airport fairly quickly. As they hopped into Brandy's Mazda Protégé, Felicity reached for the radio and turned it up, loud "Zoot Suit Riot, Riot! Throw back a bottle of beer" the Cherry Poppin' Daddies filled the car with their cool swing sound. Brandy turned it down a little, glanced at Felicity and smiled as if to say "sorry sweetie, too loud". Felicity gazed out at the city passing by her, it was a really pretty place, a lot more sunny than the coffee-drinking, hipsters that ruled Seattle. Felicity read a sign as they turned on to some road that said welcome to West Tulsa, pop.219. Oh great, I have to find someone to hang out with between 220 people! Yeah right! she thought Brandy turned down a street called 78h street What a creative street name she thought to herself almost giggling. Brandy pulled into a driveway and Felicity looked up at the massive house. It wasn't nearly as bad as she thought, it was actually a really pretty house with lots of flowers in the front and a wrap-around porch with a few sofas on it. On the second floor wrap-around porch, there were so many potted plants, it was beautiful. "You like?" Brandy asked "Hell yeah,I like " Felicity said amazed . She grabbed her suitcase and backpack and tried to climb up the stairs "Need some help?" Brandy asked "Sure" Brandy grabbed the suitcase and walked up the steep stairs with ease. She set the suitcase down and reached in her purse, and then pulled out a key. She opened the door and the smell of fresh-baked cookies swallowed the fresh air. "Chocolate Chip with pecans?" Felicity asked "Yep, only the best for my favorite niece" Brandy said shutting the door behind her. Felicity smiled as she wandered into the kitchen, the smell leading her. She grabbed a cookie off the tray and took a bite "Yum" she said "Let's get your stuff upstairs and unpacked and then I want you to meet the neighbors, they have kids your age that you'd probably like." Brandy said "OK," Felicity said, not really wanting to meet anyone right now because she was in a bad mood already and if she didn't like these people, she didn't want to be a bitch. She successfully dragged her backpack and suitcase up two flights of stairs and opened the door of the attic to see that it was huge, and all hers. There was a futon bed, a huge entertainment center complete with a Super Nintendo and CD player, a computer , 2 couches, a lazy-boy chair, a refrigerator, a table with chairs, and a toilet, shower and sink, all in one room. Even the toilet, shower and sink were in the same room as everything else. Felicity made a note to her self to lock the door when she took a shower. She then noticed the closet at the very back of the room, once she had pulled her clothes out and was wondering where in the world she was supposed to put them. She opened the closet to find that it was very small, hung all of her clothes, then threw her panties and socks on the closet floor. She set up her picture frames, one that had a picture of Kevan in it, one had a picture of her best friend Alicia, one with her other best friend Natalie, and the last had a picture of her old boyfriend, whom she had broken up with before she left, so he could have freedom when she was gone, and so could she. They agreed that when she came back, if they still had feelings for each other, they would go out again, but for now, she wanted to be able to flirt and mess around with Tulsa guys without feeling guilty. Felicity missed Justin a lot, but she reassured herself by telling herself they would be together again someday. "Felicity!" Brandy yelled "What?!" she answered "Let's go! I want you to meet some neighbors." Felicity sighed, and then sprinted out of her room down to the first floor. They walked out of the door and walked over to a house made of rocks, 4 windows in the front, a few trees, a little flight of five stairs that led to the door, and there was pretty much no porch compared to her house. Brandy rang the doorbell and a beautiful middle-aged woman with very long blond hair answered the door. "Oh hi Brandy, this must be your niece Felicity, how are you doing?" she lady asked Felicity "Fine, thank you" Felicity said as politely as possible. "My name is Diana Hanson, Walker!" she yelled into the house. A man with dark brown hair showed up beside his wife "and this is my husband Walker" she said "Walker, will you please go get the boys?" "Yeah sweetheart" he said lovingly YES! Felicity thought to herself guys! Walker returned with three boys that had shoulder length hair and looked about 10, 13 and 16. The middle boy was really cute, but they all were, as a matter of fact. " These are my three eldest boys, Isaac, Taylor and Zachary, but we call him Zac" Diana said "Nice to meet you" Felicity said with her hand extended. "Nice to meet you too" the youngest one, Zac, said and shook her hand firmly while giving her a goofy smile. Felicity laughed silently. "Nice to meet you" said the cute one, Taylor, and when he smiled his whole face lit up, and Felicity could see his beautiful blue eyes. She smiled at him and then looked at Isaac, the eldest, "Hi" was all he said. She smiled at him too, but with a confused look on her face. "They are 12, 15 and 17, how old are you Felicity?" Diana asked "I'm 13" she said. Taylor smiled.
