John was a Quartermaster
In the Saturday morning Men`s meeting he regaled us with several stories of life aboard the Beale during a Shooting War.
John is writing a "log" of his exploits which should be great reading.
I wish I had John`s energy and I am 20 years younger.
Another Shipmate at the meeting had several fascinating stories also but I don`t remember his name.
