Rules on approaching a cow for the first time:
1.Cows smell fear, so don't show any anxiety about being near them (besides, who is scared of cows!).
2.Go alone.
3.Approach one cow only.
4.Ask them their name.
5.Don't assume that she will talk to you, because only dairy cows do (all meat cows are angry at the world, because they know they are going to die and you are going to eat them).
6.Take a bell with you so that you can give it to her a a gift and recognise her next time you meet.
7.They don't like to be touched too much, so a simple stroke down the nose will do.
*Never milk a cow, let her milker do that, that's what they are paid for.
*NEVER EVER approach a bull, the straight ones don't talk, and the gay ones won't stop talking!
BEST OF LUCK WITH TALKING TO A COW....email me and let me know how it went.
The names of my cows.
Fortunately most of my cows were named for me (thanks megan)...so here they are:
Louisianniea Danielliea (R.I.G.P) (resting in greener pastures), native name ChocChip.
Louisianniea Elliea (R.I.G.P) native name Choc Caramel.
Daylea (R.I.G.P)
Clarrabell
Mew
6 are un-named...names are being created everyday though. I was going to name one Danaeliea, but that is the name of my computer, and we couldn't give them the same name now could we.
Here is a picture of Mew...
Unfortunately a picture of Louisianniea Danielliea is unavailable untill later in the year, but untill then, here is an artists impression of her.
