leaning on cardboard

lyrics by Justin Greer

I know the ground is shaky.
I'm sure the path is wide.
How it's so hard to tell the truth
and so easy to lie.
but that is why he died upon the cross.
You did the crime
he did the time, he paid the cost.

I was walking on thin ice
rolling the dice of my life.
I was walking barefoot on hot coals
so I let the dice go never watching where they roll.
I was leaning on cardboard boxes
now I'm standing on solid rock.

She was going through such a hard time.
Her husband left her without a dime.
She said the last thing that'll heal these wounds is time.
They came out so fast I could not even count the tears she cried.
Then she got so down she needed to get high.
That day it got too tough.
That was the day she died.
Her neighbors heard shouting from the house saying
"Hey at least I tried!"

She was walking on thin ice
rolling the dice of her life.
She was walking barefoot on hot coals.
She let the dice go but didn't care where they roll.
She was leaning on cardboard boxes.
She chose to sink in the mud rather than stand on the rock.
