Countless ages ago, the Two were born. When they were born, they were as any other, but in their life, through toil, and understanding and fortune, they gained knowledge and power denied to most
In their power, they surpassed the bonds known to most of their kind, in lifespan most of all. Through the uncounted eons, they learned and grew and studied. Yet, after amassing knowledge of a sort rarely seen, they grew tired of their quest. Instead of just looking, they decided to act, to see what their own actions would do and how they would play out.
They searched for a promising scene for their "experiment" in finally came to a small blue-green world. It was like so many others they had seen, a place of magic and power. While such a place would be wonderous to us, to them it was just another, as they had seen countless others in the past
The Two were not of one mind in the experiment. The one felt that the lowly residents of this place would have the strength to overcome the bonds of fate, were such placed upon them. The other felt that fate was too powerful, and that this place would race towards it's fate, unheeding and helpless
So, they reached out their powers, and took this small world, and placed
a bond of fate upon it. A fate of fire and destruction. Then, they sat
back to observe that which would come from what they had wrought.
Verson 2
It started with the two. In their own beginning, they were but as others
of their kind. Mortal, constrained by tight limits. yet, in the deep ages
of the past, the two managed to slip those bonds, and life a life far beyond
their kind, not a century, or a millenium, but more, more than could described
in the words of men
The two do not speak of how they did this, and none others have ever learned the truth. Somehow there is a connection between them, that cannot be described. They are eternally different, yet connected in bonds beyond understanding
Over the ages, their power and their knowledge grew, as they examined the mysteries of the stars, of the great void between those stars. Matters great and small they stuidied, and they comprehended. Yet, over the course of seeming eternity, they found that their eternal quest was somehow unfulfilling
So, in time, they decided that to merely look and watch was no longer enough for them. They took a hand, and did not merely watch, but acted, shaping worlds, tearing apart stars to find the answers to the debates of minutae between them.
Yet, they were unsatisfied. So, in time, they looked for new topics of study, and turned away from the secrets that many would call "science" and instead turned to another, far more difficult topic to define, that of fate. But, where science can be readily proven or disproven, how do you run experiments on fate? Their discussions became more etherial, more philosophical
This continues, for years behond human experience, but between the two, they still could not agree on how powerful fate may be. So, in the end, they decided once more to experiment. They chose a world, a small, inconsequantal place. A World of magic and power after it's own fashion.
They asked one another, "Can this world break a fate we place upon it."
The one said yes, the other said that fate is too powerful. So, they reached
out their power, and cast a heavy pall of fate upon that place. A fate
of fire and blood, of noble courage and love, a fate of ultimate destruction.
Then, they sat back to watch the play unfold
