The Prophecy of the Great Seer Note: This is the “text” of the prophecy of the 10 “Dragon Soulmates”. However, the text of this prophecy has been “lost”, and even Nerlana is not aware it exists. Only the names that Belthina gave to each of them has been carried on. The style is intentionally not purely prose or purely poetic, but a sort of rambling mystical hybred. I am Belthina, the Seer. I am the second of the ten who hear the dragons in my mind. One has come before. Eight shall come anon. In our fate is tied the fate of the world and all upon it. The first is the Mountain Child, he who came before. He opened the way for the dragons to walk among mankind. I am the Second, the Seer I see what shall be, and give warning to those who heed. The Third shall come, the King of Men. He shall make a great empire. Built not on conquest, but on justice. His realm shall be the greatest of all time. But in time to come, in the days of his grandson’s grandson. The wisdom of the King of Men shall be forgotten, and the new King will forget he is the servant of the people and shall strive to make the people his servants. In those days shall the empire fall, and the crash shall resound from lake to peak, from sea to plain. Then comes the Fourth, the Woman of Sorrow The enemies of the Dragons shall assail her She will make the mothers choice. Her offspring will live, but the blood of the woman will be the price. Soon shall follow Five The Harmony of the Soul His magic shall be great Not magic of fire or air but magic of the soul For he shall put to music his heart and express his joy. In his work shall many find peace. The Hero of Ages is Six He shall aid men in their lives, yet he whall be unknown. For he shall desire to help, not to seek praise. The Seventh, Promise Cut Short A kindly child, a girl of compassion She shall be laid low by those in want of Gold. Her promise shall not be seen. Then there shall be long ages, where the soulmates shall be forgotten many will see them as myths as the tales of foolish old men. In days when only one shall remember the days of Promise Cut Short, the Eighth shall come. She is the Wanderer. A traveler from worlds unknown. A woman of great heart, a bearer of great sorrows. When the Wanderer comes, hearken for she is to you a sign The dark days are coming. For there will be those not content to aid, but instead desire to rule. The Ancient Wise Queen shall die torn apart by a Golden Claw. But hope shall not be lost. When hope seems gone, Then shall come the Ninth, Hope of the Ages. She shall join with the Morning Dawn They will struggle long and suffer much. But in the end, they shall prevail and bring the dragons back to the light. Then at last we come to the Tenth The Keeper of the River of Blood. In his days shall the great war come. In that day, the power of fate shall be shattered and the future becomes clouded. These are the Ten who shall come. They will come in times of good They will come in times of ill. Hearken and beware.
