The Fifth Element
The fifth element is a science fiction movie by Luc Besson. It is made 1997 and the actors that have the leading parts are Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman and Milla Jovovich.
Bruce Willis acts as the former military pilot, Corben Dallas, which has retired and now works as a cab driver. He dreams about the perfect woman and thinks that if he doesn’t find her, he doesn’t want anyone. His mother is a little funny feature in the movie, since she calls him and nags him about everything between heaven and earth.
Milla Jovovich is the perfect being that was created in ancient time in order to rescue the world from the evil that is threatening. She happens to fall down in Corbens cab, they have cars that fly in this time, and she convinces him to help him, even though there are some language difficulties.
Corben takes Leeloo, which the perfect being is called, to a priest named Vito Cornelius, since she asked for a priest and Vito actually is her contact person on earth. Vito Cornelius, his assistant Peter, Corben and Leeloo go out to save the world. In their way comes Mr.Zorg, played by Gary Oldman. He is an evil multiindustrialist on earth. Another person who crosses their path is the very funny radio host Ruby Rod, played by tricky Kid. He is very special and has a remarkable charisma.
Of course they succeed with their mission and like always in American movies, everything is down to the last second. The earth is about to burn up and Peter happens to blow out the only match they have, which they need in order to save earth (you have to activate the stones by having all the four elements). Of course Corben finds one more and he becomes the big hero.
The Fifth Element is a science fiction movie with the big city puls but with the small human being in the centre. It can be very predictable, but in a comic way. The special effects are incredible and equally distributed throughout the movie. The film music is really special and gives a certain atmosphere. By own experience, I would say that The Fifth Element is a film that you either love or hate. I think you should definitely see it because it is something of its own among all films. I belong to the lovers and I wouldn’t want to be without it.
In order to rescue the earth from the big evil, which is a black hole of energy that is growing in space, they have to get four stones, which the saschachoan (a kind of aliens) have. Then they should take them and Leeloo to an Egyptian pyramid and organise them in a particular pattern. Of course the stones aren’t were they are supposed to be and they have to go to the luxury vacation resort Fhlosten Paradise, were the Diva, an alien singer, is going to give them the stones. There are some other aliens, which work for Zorg, that want the stones as well. There is a lot of shooting, hostage scenarios and action in general. All spiced up with The Divas song and Ruby rods talking. As always, there has to be a male hero and this movie is no exception. Corben gets to save Leeloo and become a hero. On the way to the Egyptian pyramid he also has to convince her that the world is worth saving and does this by proving his love to her.
