Romeo and Juliet: Project Assignment Value: 200 points Complete ONE of the following assignments: 1. Assume that you are Juliet and write a diary entry describing your attitudes and feelings after your balcony scene with Romeo (pages 509-514, lines 35-203). Write a second entry after you hear of the duel between Tybalt and Romeo (pages 538-541, lines 1-147). Create an illustrated diary cover for your entries. 2. Write the delayed letter from Friar Laurence to Romeo as the Friar might have written it. 3. Write an Epilogue for Romeo and Juliet in the sonnet form of the play's Prologue. 4. Write Romeo's suicide note mentioned on page 577, lines 23-24; page 586, lines 277-282; and page 586, lines 291-295. 5. Rewrite the final scene of Romeo and Juliet. Indicate at which point you will change the course of events. 6. Select a key scene and rewrite it as it might be spoken in a modern version. You must retain the original meaning. 7. Make a collage illustrating the key scenes in the play. Include some quotes from the play. 8. Draw a series of three to five illustrations depicting the key scenes in the play. Identify each scene and assemble in order. 9. Make a sociogram illustrating the relationships among the characters in the play. 10. Make a detailed drawing or model of Shakespeare's Globe Theater. 11. (Group Project) Prepare a five-minute video of one of the key scenes from the play. Written dialogue, appropriate costumes and props required. ***Highest point value will be given to projects that are creative and carefully done. Project should show effort, be neatly prepared and error free. All writing projects are to be typed or written in ink on white paper or parchment paper. Include name and block number on front of project.
