_____ _____ 2. You support your opinions with specific details from the story.

_____ _____ 3. You use no more than 2 "be" verbs in the paragraph; the "be" verbs include "am, is, are, was, were, be, been, and being."

_____ _____ 4. You write with style by incorporating ALL of the following: specific words, active voice, sentence variety, and figurative language. Use and label two different sentence patterns, write entirely in active voice, choose great verbs, and include at least one simile or metaphor.

_____ _____ 5. Your paragraph follows standard writing conventions: punctuate and spell correctly, follow grammar and usage rules, indent new paragraphs, use ink, and write neatly.

Each of the above five points is worth 20 points. If you fulfill the requirement, you receive the full 20 points. If you have one mistake in any area, you receive 10 points. More than one mistake in any area means you receive no points.
