Vocabulary Card Activity

You can take large index cards and cut them in 2 width-wise (is that a word?!?). Anyway...put the word to be learned on one piece and the definition on the other piece. I use different colors of ink so that I know the definition from the word. Cut them the same so they don't fit like a puzzle. Then mix each pile up and have the students put the word and the definition together. You can do this in small groups if the list is long enough, which helps on the number of cards you have to create. Also, you could give extra credit points on the test for the group that finishes correctly first.
