Andy tells about his Job at SCT

I am working for a software company called Systems & Computer Technology Corporation. SCT is located about 20 minutes west of Philadelphia in an area called Malvern (very close to Villanova University). I am in Support Services of the Manufacturing Distribution Services Division.

Our division develops, maintains, and supports an Enterprise Resource Planning software called ADAGE.
ERP software helps to manage the resources of a company. ADAGE in particular supports process manufacturing companies.

Process Manufacturing entails anyone who takes a bunch of ingredients, mixes them up, then sells them. This type of manufacturing is different from discrete manufacturing. Discrete manufacturing is where you take parts and assemble them together. We don't target that industry.

ADAGE is such a large software package that the company breaks it up into different processes. I am a part of the Order to Cash process. This deals with everything from taking orders to collecting the money. More specifically I am assigned to the Pricing and Promotions function of our software. It is my job to be the guru of Pricing and Promotions.

I was originally slated to go to Client Services at the commencement of my training, however due to extenuating circumstances I have been sent to a client site. I am currently working with Sartomer while they go through the implementation of ADAGE.

Sartomer is a global supplier of specialty chemicals.
They make stuff called monomers, oligomers, and photoinitiatiors. Don't ask me what they are or what they do. It's just my job to make sure that they are priced right.
