Chapter 12-Sam Goody's

Scarlet, Taylor, Isaac, Zac, Walker and Chris along with a few other Mercury executives and bodyguards were ushered through a back door into the rented van destined for Sam Goody’s at Universal City Board Walk.

When they finally got there, the screams of the ‘banshees’ were deafening. The van was driven around to a back entrance where it would be safer for them to get out. No such luck there. At the back entrance, about 200 or more teenage girls had gathered up, screaming ‘I love you!’ to their favorite Hanson or just plain ‘Hanson’.

“Get ready to make a run for it,” Chris said as the bodyguards tried to make a barricade for them to run through. One by one they exited the van, Walker and his trusty video camera first, next Chris and Scarlet, and finally Isaac, Taylor and Zac. The screams grew past unbearable. It was aching their ears, but still they waved and smiled as nicely as they could to the screaming girls. Some girls noticed Scarlet, but took no notice of her as their concentration floated back to the 3 blonde haired boys. Luckily, the group quickly made their way into the complex.

”Whoa…talk about deafening!” Zac exclaimed once they were inside.

“Is that what you guys have to put up with every concert and every appearance?” Scarlet asked.

”It’s sometimes worse. You can’t even hear yourself think,” Walker laughed.

Scarlet giggled.

“Hi, I’m Linda. If Isaac, Taylor and Zachary would like to follow me, we can get this show on the road. Alright?” a lady with deep brown hair asked them, obviously she worked at Sam Goody’s. Without hesitation, Isaac, Taylor, Zac and Walker followed Linda. Taylor quickly turned back to Scarlet.

“You wanna come?” he asked her.

Scarlet smiled thankfully and shook her head.

“No. I’ll stay here, I’ll see you guys after. Kay?” Scarlet bargained.

“Cool,” Taylor answered as he left. Scarlet sat down in a chair. Chris did the same in the chair next to Scarlet.

“It’s nice to see you making friends with the guys,” Chris told her motioning to the door that the Hanson men had just exited through.

“Yeah, they’re cool,” Scarlet replied as she placed her bag in her lap.

“You know, Scarlet, you’re welcome to stay for as long as you need to,”

“I’d like that, Chris. Thanks,”

Chris gave her a breif hug before he stood up, “If you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask me OK?”

“Sure,” Scarlet responded before Chris left the room. She sighed heavily and ran her fingers through her dark hair. She took out her diary and began drawing and adding bits of writing to pass the time and cure her boredness.

After another half-hour, Hanson were still performing. Scarlet, getting bored with what she was doing, got up and went to find Walker and Chris. She kept on walking until she was at the side entrance to the small stage. She looked on the stage and saw Zac behind his towering drums, Taylor behind his keyboards, Isaac standing around with his guitar and Walker nearby filming the whole thing. She let out a barely distinguishable laugh for Taylor was sweaty and rosy cheeked, but somehow still found the energy to keep on jumping up and down. She smiled to herself before sitting down in a nearby chair out of view.
