Chapter 34

"Hey Tay." Isaac entered into the kitchen and sat down at the table with Taylor.

"Oh hey" Taylor looked up from the magazine he was reading.

"So whats that your reading?"

"Oh its just some magazine that one of Jessica's friend left here." Taylor held up the cover of it so Isaac could see it.

"Bop, why the hell are you reading that?"

"Don't know just wanted to catch up on our gossip, ya know." Taylor smiled at him.

"Yeah so what is happening this month?"

"Oh they say that you have a new girlfriend living in New York."

"Oh really" Isaac laughed.

"Yep and here it continues." Taylor continued to read the article. "It also says that am dating an upcoming actress and Zac, will this is the biggest bunch of crap I heard."

"What is it" Isaac grabbed the magazine from Taylor's hands."

"Hey I was reading that."

Isaac continued reading the article where Taylor left off. "Haha, that’s funny. I can't believe that they think that Zac doesn't like girls in the girlfriend way."

"These magazines are so full of it. They have no clue as to what they write." Taylor took the magazine back from Isaac.

"Hey what a minute what was it that they said about you." Isaac took the magazine back from Taylor and read of it again. "Ohmigod Taylor, they know about Joey."

"What" Taylor looked puzzled.

"It says right here." Isaac pointed to the article. "Middle Hanson bro has reportedly been seen dating a new upcoming actress." Isaac read out loud.

"Shit. I totally forgot Joey acted in that movie."

"Tay I wouldn't worry about it. They don't know anything. I mean look at what they wrote about Zac."

"Yeah I suppose your right. I shouldn't worry about it." Taylor got up and walked over to the fridge and got a coke. "Want one." He asked Isaac.

"Sure." Taylor handed him his coke and sat back down.

"So did you hear about that dance at Joey's school?" Isaac asked.

"No, how do you know of it."

"Mary Anne just called me and asked me to come."

"You and Mary Anne going steady yet?"

"Yeah for almost a month. Didn't you know?"

"No, am sorry. I just have been occupied."

"Yeah with Joey."

"Isaac, I have not." Taylor hit him on the arm playfully.

"Yeah. Whatever Taylor."

"So when is this dance." Taylor asked.

"Um it’s a week from tomorrow, the day before Valentines Day."

"Oh, I wonder why Joey hasn't asked me about it." Taylor looked hurt that Joey hadn't asked him yet.

"I don't know. Maybe she just hasn't gotten around to asked you about it yet."

'Yeah, I still got to plan Valentines Day for her."

"What are you going to do for her."

" I can't tell you." He smiled thinking of his thoughts.

"Yeah just what I thought." Isaac looked at his brother. " I know what you're thinking."

Taylor just smiled back at him. "Am going to go over to Joey's house. Tell mom that I'll be home for dinner."

"Okay."

"So tell me about this dance." Taylor asked Joey as they were sitting on her couch watching TV. <> "How did you find out about it." Joey looked at him surprised that he knew about the dance.

"Isaac, He said Mary Anne asked him to go with her." Taylor looked at Joey. "What? Didn't you want me to go or something."

"No" Joey defensively said. "Its just that I didn't think that you would want to go so I didn't bother asking you." Joey felt bad at what she said. "I mean…. I just um." She stuttered.

"Joey, is it because of me being famous." He asked her.

"No, well kinda, yeah." Joey could see a little hurt in Taylor's eyes. "I'm sorry Taylor if I hurt your feelings. Its just that, well the only person who knows that we're dating is Mary Anne. I just wouldn't want to whole school know and spread things and ruing your privacy or rather ours."

"I see what you're saying. "

"So your not mad at me." Giving him a weak smile hoping that he wasn't.

"No, of course not."

"If you really want to go. We can go if you want."

"Yeah I'd like that." Taylor's eyes light up. " I know."

"What?"

"I can go in disguise."

"What?" Joey was confused. "Are you crazy?" she tried not to laugh at his plan.

"No, listen I could dye my hair black or something and maybe do some other things." Taylor continued talking about crazy ideas.

"What, Hell no am I going to let you dye your hair black. You'll look like some Manson freak." Joey stated.

"Well what do you suggest?" he asked.

"I suggest you go as yourself. As Taylor Hanson. Taylor am not ashamed of you am just protecting you. That’s all I meant when I didn't plan on asking you to go."

"I'm sorry Joey. I just got a little carried away. It’s just that I want to please you and make you happy." Taylor placed his hand gently on her check. " I love you Joey. You know that." He smiled deeply at her.

"I know" she smiled back. "And I love you too." She leaned in and kissed him softly. Taylor leaned back when he heard the timer on his watch go off.

"Oh shit it's 6 o'clock, I have to go, I told my mom I would be back at 6 for dinner." Taylor stood up along with Joey. "Well I guess I'll see ya later."

"Okay" Taylor gave her a small kiss good-bye and went on his way up the stairs. "Bye Taylor." Taylor turned around and waved back at her.

Taylor picked up the phone in his room dreading the phone call he was about to make. As he was pushing in the numbers he started coughing. "God why did this have to happen to me now?" he asked himself. He continued to push in the last numbers and waited for someone to answer at the other end.

"Hello" the other voice at the other end answered.

"Uh Joey." Taylor said sounding congested

"Oh hey Tay. Uh Tay are you okay, you sound awful."

"Well not really, um that's why I was calling you. " he started to cough. "I can't make it tonight to the dance."

"Are you okay, are you really sick or something." Joey asked concern.

"Yeah, I think I just got one of those 24 hour bugs. My mom said I have to stay in tonight so I can get better for tomorrow."

"Oh." Joey was somewhat disappointed about the matter. "Well I hope you get to feeling better."

"Joey am real sorry."

"Oh it's all right, it's just a stupid school dance. I guess I better go call Mary Anne and tell am not going."

"Wait. I want you to still go."

Joey cut him off " Taylor am not going to go by myself."

"No I want you to go." He was about to kill himself for saying this. "I want you to go with Zac."

"With Zac? Why do you want me to go with Zac." Joey knew that Taylor didn't like how close Zac and her where.

"I don't know really, I just don't want you to miss the dance and all the fun. I guess if I would have to pick any one to take my place I guess it would be Zac."

"Oh that's nice of you Taylor. Just tell Zac that I will be there at 6:30 and that Isaac is going to take us over to Mary Anne's."

"Okay I'll give him that information. Have fun tonight, am real sorry I can’t make it tonight." "It's okay Taylor, you can't help. Just take it easy tonight and get better."

"I will"

"I love you."

"I love you too." Taylor placed the phone down on the hook. "Some day am going to regret asking Zac go with Joey to that dance." He told himself.

Joey arrived at the Hanson's right on time. Both Isaac and Zac came to answer the door. "Hey guys." She smiled at time, excited about tonight.

"Wow." Zac stared at her. "You look beautiful." Joey was wearing a long black spaghetti strapped dress with velvet flower patters printed on it.

"Thanks Zac. You don't look so bad yourself." She smiled at him looking him up and down.

"Here, this is for you." Zac handed her a red rose.

"Oh that’s so sweat Zac, thank you." Joey kissed him on the check.

"So are we ready to go." Isaac asked.

"Yeah." Joey and Zac both answered.

"All right, then lets go get Mary Anne."

"Are you having a good time?" Joey asked Zac while they were dancing to an upbeat song.

"Yeah" Zac smiled at her.

"Great, she smiled back. "It looks like Mary Anne and Isaac are too." Joey pointed to them across the floor holding each other close, whispering in each other's ear.

"Isaac really likes her." Zac said.

"Yeah, they look really cute together."

"They do." Zac agreed.

"Hi Joey. I don't believe I have met your date." Her friend Kyla asked.

"Yeah, Kyla this is Zac."

Kyla leaned into Joey's ear and whispered. "He looks a little young for you. But you guys do look real cute together."

"Thanks but Zac is just my friend, really."

"Oh, but you two would look really great together. Hey I gotta go, my date is probably with his friends getting drunk off their asses somewhere. See ya later."

"Bye Kyla."

"Who was that." Zac asked who was trying to not look noticeable through their conversation.

"That was Kyla."

"A friend of yours?"

"Well not really but we get along. Hey you want to get something to drink?"

"Yeah I am a little thirsty."

"Bye Mary Anne, Isaac thanks for the ride." Joey told them as she was getting out of the car.

"Bye Joey, am glad you came." Mary said. "See ya tomorrow."

"Okay bye."

Zac walked Joey up to he door.

"Ya know what Zac I had a really great time tonight." She smiled at him.

"Yeah me too."

"Well I guess I should go in now." Although Joey didn't want to.

"Um okay, well bye."

"Zac" Joey grabbed his arm.

"Yeah" he turned back around to face her." To him she looked so beautiful just standing there looking him in his eyes. Joey leaned forward still looking in his eyes until she was an inch from him. Zac could feel her eyes placed on his lips. He breathed in deep and soon felt her warm moist lips touching his. Zac was about to kiss her back but she pulled away from him to soon.

"Night Zac." She smiled warmly at him.

"Good night." Zac turned around and walked back to the car with a huge smile on his face.

"Isaac did you just see that. Joey kissed Zac on the LIPS." Mary Anne said in the car as she and Isaac where watching the scene in front of them.

"Yeah I did. Man those two belong together."

"Yeah they do. They just need to confess their love for each other."

"It's getting to be a love triangle." Isaac laughed, immediately frowning. " But this mess isn't funny. Someone is going to get hurt. And I don't want to see both my brothers get hurt along with one of my good friend."
