Official OSU Plane Crash Memorial Page

A plane carrying two student-atheletes, and members of the OSU basketball family crashed Saturday evening at 5:35 Mountain Time, 80 northeast of Denver. All 10 people aboard - 2 pilots and 8 passengers died. Two members of the basketball team were onboard. Daniel Lawson, a redshirt junior college transfer from Detroit, and Nate Flemming a walk-on from Edmond, OK. Bill Teegins was also aboard. He did the play-by-play for the Cowboys in football and basketball and was known as the "voice of the Cowboys." He was also a broadcaster for KWTV in Oklahoma City. Other people onboard include: Pat Noyes, Will Hancock, Kendall Durfey, Brian Luinstra, Jared Weiberg, Denver Mills, and Bjorn Falistrom. Noyes was the director of basketball operations, Luinstra was the athletic trainer, Weiberg was the student manager, and also was the nephew of Big 12 Commissioner Kevin Weigberg. Hancock was coordinator of media relations, and was also the son of Bill Hancock, the director of the NCAA men's basketball tournament. Durfey was the engineer for the OSU radio network, and Bjorn Falistrom and Denver Mills were the pilots. Rest in peace and we will miss all of you guys. And here's one last call for Mr. Teegins...Victor's got the ball on the wing. Over to Mo in the corner. He puts up a three...and...HE'S GOT IT!!!

White and Rivers enter NFL Draft

Reggie Junior tailback Reggie White and Tight End Marcellus Rivers have entered the NFL Draft. Both had one year of eligibility remaining. Rivers is actually a senior, but was unable to play his freshman season because he was a partial qualifier. This left him a fourth year of eligibility which he is waiving to enter the NFL. Rivers was OSU's go-to receiver all season, including the OU game, when the ball went to him on a fade pattern when OSU had a shot at the end zone and one of the biggest upsets of the season. White was the first Cowboy since 1996 to rush for more than 1,000 yards in a season. He finished the year with 1,049, and averaged 5.0 yards per carry. Last year Jacoby Shephard left OSU a year early and despite criticism, was taken in the 2nd round by the St. Louis Rams.
