Chapter 1--Isaac
"Okay, Lex. Lets go. We have to meet Tay and Dana in twenty minutes." Isaac called to Alexis.
After more than five long years, she had moved back to Tulsa, Oklahoma. She had left after Zachary Hanson, Isaac's little brother, had died. "I'm coming." Alexis shouted down the stairs. She was getting ready in Isaac's house for the 2002 Music Awards Show. It was very fancy, so Isaac was wearing a tux.
Alexis walked downstairs. She was wearing a sleeveless light blue dress. She held a white purse under one arm and a pair of high heels under the other. She was carrying a small package.
When she reached the bottom of the stairs, she dropped the stuff on the floor and wrappped her arms around Isaac. "Hello." she said before kissing him.
After a minute, he pulled away. "We really have to get going. We'll be late."
"Yeah, we don't want to miss you getting the best musician of the year award." she replied. She picked up her stuff off the ground.
Hanson was nominated for the Best Musician of The Year award. After Alexis had left for England, the guys hired a new drummer. After two years, Jessica took Georgie Davis's, the replacement drummer's, place. She had a decent drum beat.
Isaac was now twenty-two and Alexis was nineteen.
***AUTHOR'S NOTE---I have no concept of time and I'm not doing exact dates, so work with me here ppls. Okay, I'm done.***
It had been a month since Alexis had come back. Isaac had been so excited. He couldn't wait to get back together.
Isaac had a few girlfriends after she had left. Alexis had been serious with one guy, but they broke it off. Isaac definatly didn't have a shortage of girls that liked him. When the group became famous, they got hundreds to thousands of fan letters, with marraige proposals, presents, everything. Same with Taylor.
They walked outside and got in the limo that was waiting for them outside. They rode basically in silence. They picked up Taylor and his girlfriend, Dana, and Jessica and her boyfriend, Jason.
Isaac still couldn't believe his luck. He might win best artist of the year, again. He and Taylor and Jessica had one it the past two years. Taylor was the same age as Alexis and Jessica was sixteen. Isaac fumbled with something in his jacket pocket. It was a jewelery box. He had a plan. If they won the award, he would propose to Alexis, onstage. If not, well, he'd just propose to her offstage. When he told Taylor and Jessica, they told him it was a great idea.
They reached the awards show at the Oklahoma City Theatre. Isaac was glad that it was being held close to home that year. But, he wondered why they'd have it in a small place like Oklahoma, where no big musicians, besides them, lived.
They stepped out onto the plush red carpet. Cameras around them snapped and questions were fired at Isaac.
"Who is this..your girlfriend?" "Are you together?" "Mr. Hanson, how do you feel about being nominated for..."
"Please, I'll answer all questions after the awards show." Isaac said as he walked down the carpet, with Alexis close at his side. She seemed pretty nervous.
"Don't be nervous. They're always like this. Anyway, we'll have fun." but Isaac couldn't help feeling nervous himself.
Chapter 2--Alexis
'Oh my gosh. This is sooooo nice.' Alexis said to herself. She was sitting down, waiting for the show to start. Isaac was sitting on one side of her, fidgiting nervously.
One her other side, was Taylor, who was leaning over and whispering something into his girlfriend's, Dana MacKenzie's, ear.
In front of her, sat Jessica, who looked gorgeous in her tight red dress. She had chin length blond hair, and looked just like Isaac.
Alexis scanned the room. She saw Mr. and Mrs. Hanson, Mackenzie, Avery and the newest edition to the Hanson family, Melissa, who was born eight months after Alexis moved to Europe, sitting accross the room. Avery looked exactly like Zac. Light blond hair, big brown eyes, and Mac was the same way. He was eight and Avery was twelve. Melissa was almost five. She had light brown hair and big blue eyes.
***AUTHOR'S NOTE---Ok, we all know Mrs. Hanson hasn't had her baby yet, so pretend it was a girl named Melissa. If it is a girl named Melissa, well, call me psychic. It'd be better if it was Alexis...***
Alexis turned to the stage, where Neve Campbell was on stage. She was hosting the show.
They sat through the show, which in Alexis's opinion, was very boring, until it was time for the best musician of the year award. Tom Cruise was presenting that award.
"And the nominees are...." he said.
Behind him, an extremely large screen flashed, and a semi-new band, Jimmy's Girlfriend, came on the screen, with the video for "Initializing Modem". Alexis thought that was the dumbest song she had ever heard. Then the band Fiery Persistance came on with the video for "Reaching Out". Next, Taylor's face appeared on the screen.
It was Hanson's video for "Cried", a song they had written for Zac in 1997, but never made it a single or video until recently. It was on "I Will Come To You", which was their third single.
Then Zac's young, cheery face appeared on the screen. It was the end of the video, which had a dedication to him. The room had become very quiet.
Alexis looked over at Isaac. He had tears in his eyes. She squeezed his hand, which was shaking. She tried to control her tears. Next to her, she heard Taylor crying softly.
Soon, the five nominees were shown. Tom Cruise opened the envelope.
"And the winner is.........Hanson, with "Cried".
Isaac, Taylor, and Jessica stood up. Alexis stayed seated, but Isaac pulled her up and lead her to the stage with them. She was confused. Taylor took the award from Tom and stepped up to the microphone.
"As you all know, this song was written for our brother, Zac, who died five years ago." he started.
"We want to thank you for voting for us. Zac would've loved to be here. Always hyper, happy. Zac, man, this is for you." he stepped away from the mic.
Jessica stepped up. "Thank you so much. This is a great award." she paused and winked at Ike. "Now, my brother, Isaac, has something to say."
Isaac took Alexis's hand and led her to the podium. "I want to do this for the whole world to see." he said. Alexis watched as he got down on his knee and pulled out a jewelery box.
"Alexis, I love you so much. You would make me the happiest man in the world if you married me."
She was in shock. She never expected it. "Yes, of course." she said.
A roar of applause and cheers erupted from the audience. Isaac slipped the ring on her finger and the three walked off stage with Tom Cruise. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Mackenzie and Avery standing up, hooting, and cheering.
Chapter 3--Taylor
Taylor felt his heart swell as he heard the opening notes to Pachebell Canon. It was Isaac's wedding song. He stood at the front of the isle with Isaac. He was the best man.
***AUTHOR'S NOTE--Okay, Pachebell Canon is this real pretty song I'm playing in my band class. I thought of it as a wedding song because it was my band teacher's wedding song.***
Melissa was walking down the isle, tossing flower petals. She was wearing a light pink dress. Next came the bride's maids and maid of honor. Then was Alexis. Taylor still couldn't believe it. It was so wierd. Isaac was marrying the girl he once loved. But Taylor wasn't mad. He just thought it was wierd. When Isaac and Alexis first announced they were going out, it was in Zac's hospital room.
Taylor had wondered about Jamie, who Isaac had said was his girlfriend at the time. But he never asked. He just guessed they broke it off.
He started to wonder what it would've been like to stay with Alexis and marry her, when Isaac stepped forward. Taylor's thoughts were broken. Alexis was now standing next to Ike.
'They make a great couple' he thought. And they did.
Taylor then glanced out at the audience. He smiled at his girlfriend, Dana. He liked her, but he didn't love her. She hinted about marraige, and Taylor had considered it, but he decided he didn't want to. He didn't say anything yet, though.
"Dearly beloved, we gather here today, to.."
Taylor's thoughts drifted to Zac. He would've been a best man today, if he was still alive. Taylor tried to picture him as the sixteen year old that he would be, but couldn't. All he saw was a happy little eleven year old, beating the hell out of the drums. At least he could remember Zac's last smile. His face always lit up when he smiled, even the few seconds before he died.
Taylor hadn't talked to anyone after that. Only twice to Alexis, and that was it. After about a month, he finally stopped staying in his room and started talking and getting active. He joined a soccer team, where he met Dana. They became friends, and about 5 months ago they had started going out.
Soon after, Mrs. Hanson had Melissa, who was a blue-eyed, girl version of Zac. And Avery and Mac were turning out with his looks too. It still astounded him how Mac's personalities and looks were almost exactly like Zac's. He was very hyper. But Mac didn't remember Zac. He was too young at the time.
"I do." he heard Alexis say. "You may now kiss the bride." the minister said.
Isaac leaned down and kissed Alexis. An organ started playing music and they walked back own the isle.
They all went over to Isaac's mansion for a party. There were two limos. One for Isaac, Alexis, Taylor, and Jessica, and the other was for the rest of the family. All the guests followed in their cars.
There were many fans waiting outside of the gate. They wanted to catch of the Hansons. There were still many young listeners. The music remined light, in the pop catagory, but the music was slightly deeper, since they were able to write about things they actually experienced. They got inside the house and there was champagne poured for all the older guests.
Everyone danced till very late. Then, right as the guests were getting ready to leave, Taylor announced that he and Jessica had a song to sing. He had keyboards from the band that was already performing, so he and Jessica and sand a heartwarming performance of a new song. It was called "Following In Your Footsteps". It was beautiful.
When it was over, the guests began to leave. Soon everyone but the Hanson family was gone.
"Well, we had a great time, but we should be going. It's getting late." Dana said to Isaac.
Taylor frowned. He and his family had been planning to stay for another hour. He pulled her aside.
"Day," he said, referring to her nickname, "Listen, I was planning on staying a little while longer." Taylor started.
Dana's smile slowly faltered. "Tay, I'm pretty tired. I want to get back to my house and get some sleep."
"Well, since we all drove here first, and you brought your car, you can just go ahead without me." Taylor said.
"Oh, yeah. Okay. Bye." she gave a quick kiss. "Love you."
But this time didn't do the usual "I love you too.". He just said goodbye. He knew their relationship would soon be over.
He sighed and went back to his family.
