DRAGONS OF THE DAWN

There be dragons still in the world
that I dwell.
Danger amidst the flowers of the dawn
would be possible still on any given
morn.
Without the power of my soul to imagine,
courageous new worlds to explore
creation would be a lonely place
of dull sameness and safe thoughts,
of unimportant things in repeating
patterns
of no uniqueness or wonder to my soul.
In the silence of the morning light
the wind speaks of life's mysteries.
Across the barren shore line
the eternal calls to me from the
breaking waves.
The reflection of my love
is found in each piece
of sand-polished glass.
Standing in the full radiance
of the beautiful present,
a moment continual and forever,
new worlds open before me to explore.
Riding upon the flowing wings of clouds
on my dragon of the dawn,
I journey forth to explore.
