Matice is an independent and open civic association of the Czech republic citizens and foreigners. Matice is one of the most populous civic associations in the Czech Republic.
Matice spreads the ideas of humanism and democracy and participates in the strengthening of the human respect and dignity and conduces to the nations and nationalities convergence both in our country and abroad based on the people equality irrespective of their race, sex, education of religion (Protestantism, evangelism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Catholicism, Hebraism, orthodoxy church, Islam and others).
It provides edition and humanitarian activities and co-operates with the civic associations, foundations, movements and with cultural, scientific and educational subjects both in our country and abroad.
The main aim of our activities are: humanism, democracy, peace policy and world-wide safety, Slavic solidarity, Czech language history, international co-operation and reliance deepening, international integration based on the equality, educational and humanitarian activities.
We welcome all financial contributions to support humanitarian campaign (for example, in 1996 Matice organized a monthly stay of 40 pupils and 4 teachers from the Serbian republic in the Czech republic) on the following band account: IPB (Investment and Post Bank), Washingtonova Street 5, 110 00 Prague 1, 135204211/5100, variable symbol (6 numbers - a birth number for individuals or the identification number for companies), constant symbol 375. In case of the contributions from abroad, the bank name and address and bank account number are enough. Matice is considering a foundation establishment.
Matice founded several committees: organizational, press, cultural-educational, lector, international, historical, economic, woman's and youth. The whole-republic board manages it. Matice co-operates with media in our country and abroad and organizes conferences, talks and meetings all over the Czech republic. It is invited to take part in foreign meetings and received several grants.
The director of Matice considers his candidacy for the president. Matice welcomes a co-operation with citizens, organizations, schools and parliaments of all continents, with compatriot organizations and with the individual countryman.
