exodus
i look deep inside the mirror and see a face
a face so changed by misery and hate
hate glimmering in eyes that once were happy
windows to the soul, a bitter soul
once a person, but never again
incapable of caring, nothing matters anymore
the harsh realities of the world no longer felt
I am trapped in my mind
the hatred, lies, and blackness
swarm endlessly, hold me prisoner
please, take my cold, dead hand and
enter my dreary mind
a single black candle shall light the way
venture down the hallway called "childhood"
and see a father that never cared
open the vault labeled "love"
and step over the pieces of my soul
shattered by the love i once felt
a love that can never be replaced
and now we have reached the last door
in this twisted path of destrution
we turn the knob, push open the door
only to see me
the loaded gun clutched in my hand
signifies my pain
i raise it slowly to my temple
preparing to meet my fate
the shot rings out, the door slams shut
this tour is now complete
i've made my final exit
be careful as you leave
