Chapter 8
We were all going back to the Okelshaw's for a party at their house. Before we left I was talking to William, he asked me when my birthday was, I gulped “I’m sorry but its on the um, Monday the 31st of August(This is the date Diana died)” I looked away, embarrassed. William smiled and replied “Don’t worry its not your fault but thanks for being understanding” Soon after we left to go to the Okleshaws. Have I told you about the Okelshaw's house, well its absoloutly huge, probrably bigger than Buckingham palace, I've got lost about 5 times already while being there. Also it is so beautiful and they have acres and acres of grounds with a forest, stream, stables with an arena, lake, pools, tennis courts and even a cross-country jumping couse set up! Well they are the 2nd richest family in England! When we arrived there they had a huge marquee set up and all these fairy lights everywhere, it looked so cool and there were people everywhere all dressed up all really posh. Matt said that there wouldn't be any other kids at this party which was disappointing, not even the princes! Matt and I got some drinks, (Andy had found the only girl at the party- a second cousin of Matt, she was pretty! Luke was at a friends house or something for the night and Hally I hadn't seen all day so I guess her nanny had her upstairs or something.) We went to the drinks table, Matt grabbed a few stollies and I got a can of rum-cola and we went outside. We went and sat on one of the lawns behind the marquee. We just sat and talked about life while drinking. He asked we if I had a nickname he could call me as although my name was really beautiful it was a bit of a mouthful to say, I told him that most people call me Zar but when I was in Primary School I was called Zeb cos that’s my initials! My family calls me Zar, Zeb or just Zara Elouise and so do all my friends So you can call me whatever! He decided on Zeb! We were just sitting there when some really old song (60's) that was really familiar started to play, so for some reason I jumped up and started dancing around the lawn, doing cartwheels and front flips and just prancing around (Good thing no-one else was there apart from Matt cos I was making an absolute fool of myself, I had changed into some pedal-pushers and a white ¾ length fitted shirt) He started laughing so much that he couldn't stop and then joined in although he was falling on the ground every time he tried to do a handstand or cartwheel, he was so funny. After a while I just collapsed on the grass and he came and lied down next to me, for about ten minutes we just stared up at the stars in silence then all of a sudden he rolled over and kissed me(finally!!) it was the softest nicest kiss I had ever experienced, I kissed him back. Then we were interrupted by my little brother Josh (great, he's so annoying!) "Zar, Dad wants you to come and meet some people, no!" my brother told me. Matt came with me as I went to see my dad. He introduced me to some people who also had daughters at Ascot (My new school) And after about 20 mins of introductions my father let me go. By now it was about 12:30 and Matt took me to see his horse which I hadn't seen yet. On the way to the stables we passed my brother, Andy and Matt's cousin who I found out was called Lara, making out on a bench by one of the ponds. We left them alone and continued on our way, Matt's horse was called Mulligan, weird name I know, he was real pretty though, a true Palomino. Matt let me sit on him bareback, it was so cool, it was then I decided that I wanted to horseride. We went back to the house and I went to my room, Matt kissed me on the cheek at the door.
