Poor Johnny. He was a manic depressant and many people made fun of him
for
crying in public because he was so depressed and right before picture
day,
he killed himself and the school figured he was absent and they turned
in
picture unavailable for Johnny but the next day, the found out the
truth
and it was already to late.
Translations for my theory:

Sometimes I wonder is maybe we're to blame- Blaming yourself for
sending
poor, depressed Johnny over the edge.
Poor Katie- Katie was the only one who was kind to him.
