In the spring of 1985, the Lord visited me with a dream concerning "seed faith" and the "promises of God". In my dream I was standing next to the hospital bed of someone I knew. He was at the point of death. There were others in the room, but they soon left and I remained alone with the man. I began questioning him about what was happening to him. He did not answer.
Immediately, we were in the Spirit, in a "dry and waterless place" and I began questioning him again, saying, "What's happening to you? Where are you going? Where have you been?" In his hand was a small brown paper bag and on it were beautifully painted hearts, purple, red, and white. It reminded me of a valentine. There were these words on the sack.
In the paper sack, were tiny seeds. I knew this because I could hear them rattling around. The man who had died had a look of amazement on his face and he said, "All those stories I heard about Jesus when I was a child are true, they're all true." He then began to move away from me, and as he did I began to question him once more. "What's happening to you? Where are you going?" He said, "I'm going my way, there's nothing you can do for me." And saying this, he left, and as he did, I could feel the laughter of Satan.
I woke up sweating. It was just before dawn and still dark outside. I said to myself, "Lord, what does all this mean?" Half asleep, I got out of bed and went to my desk and while flipping open my bible I turned on a desk lamp. When my eyes met the page, I instantly knew what I had seen. Now I was awake. This is what I read;
"To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God, but to the rest it is in parables...now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God. And those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so they may not believe and be saved. And those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in a time of temptation fall away. And the seed that fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity. And the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance" (Luke 8:10-15).
