FACTS about Texas Longhorn cattle

• General Info: Price of registered animals vary considerably.
  Herd Sires will range from $1,000 to $25,000.
  Cows will range from $400 to $60,000.
  Calves will be priced at $400 to $3,000.
  Steers(trophy) can be purchased for $2,000 to $15,000.
  
  Bulls Weight=1400-2200lbs, Horns are (generally) heavier at the base. Length of horn for a mature animal is from 50" to 84". Longest horned bull on record is 84".
  Cows Weight=600-1400lbs, Horns are (generally) smaller base. Length of horn for a mature animal is from 40" to 84". Longest horn on record is 87" for a mature cow.
  Calves Birth Weight=45-75lbs., Horns are (generally) grown at a rate of 30" ( 45%) the first year, 26"(30%) the second, 10"(10%) the following year.
  NO, they are not born with horns! BUT , there are some unbelievable claims!
  Steers Weight=1400-2500lbs, Horns are the largest of all. Length of horn for a mature animal is from 6ft. to 9ft. Longest horn on record is 112" for a living animal.
