More punk impossible - Apresentation in Rio takes thousands of fans to craziness

In a time that the people call Agnostic Front and Shelter hardcore and a ray doesn't hit their heads, nothing can be more punk than Offspring. So punk, that the band fucked off even for the style conventions - and variated, playing well and making good melodies for whistle. It was this diversified sound that super-apportioned Metropolitan with 11 thousand teenagers, baudnesses and hairies at the August 14 night. Like happens with a lot of people who plays at Brazil for the first time, The Offspring was impressed with the "children" disposition to jump for 80 minutes - almost - interrupted.

The party started with a maiden speech in portuguese with American accent filled up with things like "seos meeedas" ("your dumbshits") and "fios da puta" ("motherfuckers"). Soon came toons of colorful lights and the band falled down in the fight with "The Meaning of Life". Dexter entered without the guitar, with the microphone in hand, in a punk worm posture, similar of his friend Jello Biafra, from Dead Kennedys. Soon, public and band were falling in the same aerobic session. Noodles, who runned a temperature, was with a red face, like a pepper. At the fifth music, the drummer Ron gave tired sights. Dexter, now with the guitar in hands, called the fans to the stage. "We want someone to be the keep 'em separated person", anuncied. A girl and two boys didn't pronounce the phrase (from the hit "Come Out And Play") in an intelligent way and were kicked out. Came so, another girl who made the job with maximum grade. The joke gave a little break to Ron, that if judge for the body, needs to eat some more. After, a black coach was carried to the stage and Fitz Joy, tour manager, passed with the Intermission sight. The musicians sit down in front of the drums and retired, beeing fanned like pasha.

Sucesses like "Self Esteem" and "All I Want" stayed for the second part, when the band joked playing the "When I Come Around" introdution, from Green Day (in Olympia, at Sao Paulo they also threatened "Enter Sandman", from Metallica). In the return, everybody sweaty, came "Territorial Pissings", from Nirvana. The last punk detail was by Dexter, happy, smoking and drinking Heineken in a dressing-room full of natural food and disgusting beers without alcool.
