The Offspring on a movie

June 25, 1998: The Offspring is gonna appear in a movie, that's right, a hollywood film. The band spent 3 days filming a scene for "Idle Hands," that will be out on 99 Spring. The film is a horror comedy directed by Rodman Flender and has in the cast Devon Sawa, Seth Green and Vivica Fox. The Offspring portray a band playing at a high school party where the hell is goin' to set free. "I got to speak one line before get killed," says vocalist Dexter Holland about his acting debut.

For this scene, The Offspring recorded at Ron Welty's home studio "I wanna be sedated" (a cover from The Ramones classic) and re-recorded "Beheaded" from the self-title CD, these two songs were produced and engineered by Jerry Finn. Unfortunately, these songs won't be in any soundtrack or compilation, you'll have to watch the film to hear the music.
