The Faculty soundtrack will feature Offspring song


December 05, 1998: The Faculty Soundtrack (Columbia / Sony Music) from the upcoming Dimension Motion picture, features "The Kids Aren't Alright" song by The Offspring on its track-list, taken from The Offspring's newest album "Americana." The deal between the band and Columbia Records consist that The Offspring allow the company to use the song on the soundtrack while Columbia pays the extra money for Americana booklets (the CD booklet with 16 pages got expensive for the band).

The album also contains another 12 tracks, including new versions of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick In The Wall (Part2)" and "Another Brick In The Wall (Part 1)" performed by "Class Of '99," an altrock all-star supergroup formed by Layne Staley (Alice In Chains) on vocals, Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) on guitar, Steve Perkins (Jane's Addiction / Porno For Pyros) on drums and Martyn Le Noble (Porno For Pyros) on bass; along with songs by artists such as Soul Asylum, Garbage, D Generation, Oasis, Creed, Stabbing Westward and Sheryl Crow.

The movie follows a group of students that have the mission of save the planet from alien domination. The cast brings Salma Hayek, Robert Patrick, Famke Janssen, Clea DuVall, Elija Wood, Shawn Hatosy and Josh Hartnett.

The Faculty Soundtrack hits stores on December 15 while the film opens nationwide on December 25.
