Offspring back bike jump-off

March 10, 1999: Punk rockers the Offspring will sponsor a competition between daredevil bicyclists Flush Fernandez and John Jesme in Las Vegas on Friday, March 12th, and they'll provide running commentary on the event. The riders will begin the competition by jumping over five cars; an additional car will be added until one of the riders fails to complete the maneuver. The Offspring, whose Americana album has sold more than six million copies worldwide, will cap off the night with a performance at the city's newly opened House of Blues venue. The program with the event along with the band performance at House of Blues will be aired on MTV in May.
