Offspring set angers on Q101's Jamboree '99

May 27, 1999: During an Offspring's apresentation at Chicago,IL, in the radio Q101's Jamboree '99 festival, Dexter Holand explained that the band decided not to put t-shirts from the band to sell at the place. The reason is that the World Music Theater wanted a high percentage over the sellings of t-shirts.

Along this, during the last song of the band's set lat Saturday (Self Esteem), Dexter Holland invited the sold-out crowd of more than 30.000 fans to pick up the garbage and throw it onstage. The band finished their set but the hailstorm of plastic cups, water bottles, garbage cans and other trash continued raining down on the pavillion.

10 minutes after the band left the stage, the trash-rain was still up, and it made a 20 minutes late to the Red Hot Chili Peppers' set. The Chili Peppers were so angry with The Offspring that they threatened not to play. Anthony Kiedis, Chili Peppers singer, was so mad that before his band concert he apologizes the crowd saying they're late because the Offspring singer was in backstage sucking Randy Savage's dick.

World Music Theater officials said "A concert-goer suffered a concussion and was treated at local hospital." Throught The Offspring's manager, the band released a short statement in which they apoplogized to concert-goers. "We regret any inconvenience or harm that this caused anyone," said Offspring manager Jim Guerinot. "That wasn't our intention, and we hope we can make it up to the city of Chicago next time." Guerinot admitted that The Offspring has invited crowds at other recent concerts to do the same.
