Bad Religion out of some South America tourdates November 17, 1999: Bad Religion has canceled two of their three concerts in Brazil, they were supposed to be one of the opening acts along with The Vandals for The Offspring shows in Brazil (South America). The scheduled concerts in Brazil are in the cities of Curitiba (Nov. 19), Sao Paulo (Nov. 20) and Rio De Janeiro (Nov. 21), but Bad Religion will be playing only at the Sao Paulo (Skol Rock festival) concert. The Bad Religion was until November 15th confirmed to be an opening act for the concerts of The Offspring in Brazil, but they no longer will be playing the Curitiba and the Rio De Janeiro shows. It happened because they weren't on the bill for these concerts, the Brazilian promoters just added them without the permission from The Offspring crew. "There were probably missunderstandings between The Offspring managers and the Brazilian booking agents" said Bad Religion tour manager. Answering the reasons of the cancelation of the concerts, Greg Graffin (Bad Religion vocals) said: "I have been busy sending email to all our brazilian fans. Here is my answer: When asked The Offspring's tour manager assistant, Larry Tull, why they kicked Bad Religion out of the bill, he answered: "Regarding Bad Religion, we didn't kick them off, they were never on the bill. The Offspring has promised The Vandals that they could support them and the promoter just tried to add Bad Religion without asking us." Bad Religion will be coming now to South America for only one concert (at Sao Paulo, Brazil) and they promissed they will be back again in 2000 to make a complete South America tour. And for The Offspring in their South America tour, they canceled their first concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina (supposed to be on Nov. 16th), there will be now only one concert in Argentina. The Offspring also moved the Curitiba concert venue from Pedreira Paulo Leminski to Expotrade. Here goes the complete South America tourdates with The Vandals as the opening act:
