Bammies revamped with nominees for 23rd ceremony

January 19, 2000: The Bammies are back, and The Offspring received a nomination for the newly christened Tower Records California Music Awards.

The 23rd ceremony of the Bammies Awards is set to take place in San Francisco, California at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on Apirl 8th (Saturday). So far, the only band that confirmed to play at the awards is Smash Mouth.

The Bammies were founded by BAM, a San Francisco music magazine, to honor the local artists and the local music scene. But last year, the Bammies became California Music Awards, and got included the Southern California artists too, as the awards were just for the Bay Area artists. It becomes like that since BAM closed its San Francisco and Los Angeles magazines in June of 1999 and this award became organized by Tower Records.

The Offspring run this time for " Outstandong Group" along with Third Eye Blind (with another 6 nominations at the awards), Blink-182, Rage Against The Machine (also with more 6 nominations) and Smash Mouth.
