Blockbuster Awards announces nominees

February 9, 2000: The nominees of the 6th Annual Blockbuster Entertainment Awards have been announced and The Offspring has been given the nood for "Favorite Modern Rock Group." It was one more award nomination the band received from their latest album "Americana," showing the success they got with this release.

Whitney Houston was the artist who received more nominations for the awards with three nominations. Several other artists have been nominated for two awards.

The ceremony, that also covers awards given out to the bests on films and video games, will be broadcasted live from Los Angeles, at the Shrine Auditorium in June. The ceremony will be aired by Fox channel.
