Chapter Twenty One
Chapter 21-
Slowly I walked toward the airport entrance. It was early Saturday night, and I
really didn't want the guys to leave. "Guys, do you have to go?" I asked pathetically. Zac
smiled and looked at me.
"We'll be back soon! I promise." he told me. I laughed.
"Yeah, right. I'm sure 3 months will fly by ever so quickly." I snorted.
Taylor was quiet as he looked ahead, his eyes glued to the doorway he and his brother's
would soon to walking through. When they walk through that door.- they're gone. Gone. I
hated that word. I've always seemed to hate it, it's always caused something to happen..to
me none the less. Isaac wrapped his arm around my shoulder caringly.
"You'll be fine." he paused looking into my eyes. "I promise we'll try our
best at sending postcards...everyday. And maybe we could talk often." he said. I laughed
again.
"You say that now..but-"
"Celeste!" Ike said, rudely interrupting me. He loosened his grip around my
arm and quickly pulled a tall red head into a hug. "Wow." he whispered into her long, silky
red hair. It almost looked ruby. Suddenly I felt jealous. Shrugged that weird feeling away
I turned to Taylor.
"Try?! Please." I said, stepping closer to him. "Best friends, right?" I asked
before reaching for him. He smiled a half smile and dropped his carry on bag to the floor.
Taylor cleared his throat and pulled me into a hug.
"Always." That was all he said to me at that moment. I closed my eyes and
took in his CKbe smell.
"All those attending flight 6a2, please board now. Boarding for Tulsa
Oklahoma is now in session." the lady over the speaker paused. "Those for flight 6a2 to
Tulsa Oklahoma please begin to board now. Thank you." The speaker cut off, and I pulled
away from Taylor. I kissed his cheek and turned toward Zac.
"I'll miss you." I said, pulling him into a quickly hug. Just before he pulled
away I kissed his head quickly. I don't even think he felt it.
"I promise we'll try to call as much as we can." Zac assured me. I smiled
with pleasure and looked at Isaac and Celeste. What is up with them? And why is Celeste
moving for Isaac? She doesn't even like HANSON! I questioned myself. Shrugging, I walked
toward Isaac and placed my arms around his neck. Hanging them in front of his chest
loosely.
"Time to leave." I said into his ear. My eyes locked with Celeste. "Time to
start crying Cee." I said to her. Isaac turned his head and looked at me.
"Alright. I'll be right there." he said, moving himself away from me.
Quietly, I moved away from them.
Celeste leaned close to Isaac and placed her hands in his. "I'll miss you Isaac
Hanson." she giggled softly. Ike looked at her and smiled.
"I'll call you when I get enough time." he said to her. Celeste tilted her
head back and brought her lips to Isaac's. Ike closed his eyes and enjoyed the smell of
Celeste. She smelled of white roses and wine. (weird mix huh?) After another
announcement from the lady from the speaker, Isaac pulled away from her. "I will call you.
As soon as I get home." he vowed. Celeste allowed a huge smile to fall across her face. She
stood up and walked away. Isaac felt himself freeze when she finally was out of sight.
"Wow." he whispered. He never felt that way before. A girl has never been able to bring
such a weird emotion up into Isaac's throat. Slowly Isaac turned away from the exit and
approached us.
"Finally." Zac said, punching Ike in the arm playfully.
"Stop Zac. That's annoying." Isaac said suddenly. He pulled me into a hug,
whispered good-bye and walked into the walk way. I looked at Taylor.
"Bye." I said. Taylor whispered his good-bye as he and Zac walked into the
walkway themselves. "Best friends?" I asked softly. I watched as Taylor turned around
and looked at me.
"Best friends..always." he said, turning around and running back toward the
plane.
Two hours later I was at home reading my lines for the play. "DUNCAN!" I called.
About one second later Duncan popped his head into my room.
"Yeah babe?" he asked sitting himself roughly onto my bed beside me. My
body tilted at the pressure and I looked up at him.
"Can you read with me? I'm having a hard time remembering all these lines
and junk." I said, aggravated. He looked at me and patted me on my head.
"What scene are you up too?" he asked.
"18." I said to him. It had taken me a while, but I had memorized all my
lines and actions into two hours. "I can't remember what I'm suppose to do after I wake
up and find you lying dead next to me." Just then I started laughing. Duncan looked at me
oddly.
"And that's funny?" he questioned. I nodded and continued to laugh. The
thought of Duncan lying next to me dead made me laugh, and just thinking about that made
me think of how hard I would laugh on the night of the show. And thinking of that made me
laugh even harder. Minutes later I caught my breath.
"Alright alright." I said finally. "I say 'and thou not leave a friendly drop to
help thee?' then I reach over you and get out your knife, but then what?" I questioned,
pretending to be an idiot. I guess Duncan saw through my act because he looked at me, his
eyebrow arched.
"You kill yourself." he said shoving me. I laughed until I cried.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry." I said. "I just couldn't help it. I had to see what
your face looked like." I admitted. He smiled and laughed.
"Well I can't wait to see how much work you have to make up!" Duncan
snickered, standing up and walking to the door.
"Neither can I!" I said. I watched Duncan walk through the door, and I
closed my eyes. Suddenly, I realized I had begun to cry. My blanket was wet and I was
choking hard on my tears. "Why?" I asked myself aloud. Minutes later I dried my tears
alittle and looked myself in the mirror. "You just gave up the one thing that means the
most to you. Just because you were afraid you couldn't control yourself next time anything
got started! That's why your crying!" I said to myself. I nodded and I knew I was right. I
just let Taylor go so we could be best friends. I was too scared of what might have
happened if I didn't stop myself if anything else got started between us. Quietly, I sat
down at my desk and began to write a letter. A letter addressed to no one but myself.
That's right. Me.
Taylor picked up the phone and then put it back down. "I can't." he said. Zac
punched his arm.
"C'mon. She's waiting for you to call her. You know she is Taylor. Stop being
an idiot and call her." Zac said. He locked eyes with Taylor and snickered. "Go." he said.
Taylor shook his head and walked outside.
"This sucks!" he said aloud. Taylor closed his eyes, shoved his hands in his
front pockets and walked toward the town.
