Chapter 35
Isaac gasped and pressed the emergency button three times, frantically. "This
isn't working." he paused, looking over at his brother. "Tay get up. You can't do much if
your laying on the floor, ya know." Taylor groaned.
"Ike, they saw us, huh?" he asked, pulling himself up off the floor for a
second time. Taylor had hit his head really hard, and he felt tried suddenly. Isaac looked
up at the ceiling, and his eyes fell onto an emergency exit door.
"Forget that, c'mere." Ike said, his eyes not leaving the small, square door.
Taylor stepped next to his brother and followed his gaze.
"No way, your nuts. I could fall and hurt myself and the rope could snap and
screaming won't help and and..and..-" Tay studdered. Isaac grabbed Taylor and looked him
directly in the eye.
"Your going up there, nothing's going to happen." he said. Taylor shook his
head and looked away from his brother's gaze.
"No!" he said. Isaac grasped Taylor but the shoulder and wouldn't loosen his
grip if Taylor cried.
"I am not intending to stay here, now get up there!" he commanded. Taylor
sighed and allowed Isaac to hoist him up to the door.
"Sorry, it's stuck Ike. Guess we're just going to have to-ow!" he said, as he
went through the door.
"Stuck huh?" Isaac said, laughing. He had pushed Taylor up into the door,
causing it to open, and Taylor to go through it.
"Bite me!" Tay said, as he climbed all the way through the door. "This is so
sickening. Uh." he shivered, as he looked around at the spider infested area. "Ike, let me
down. Uh, there's..eewww!" Taylor mused. A large green spider appeared near his hand.
Taylor whipped his hand away, and stuck his head half way through the door, just enough
so he could still see the spider. "Let me down. I am not staying up here." he said. Ike
smiled.
"Taylor c'mon, it's just a spider. What..ewww-" the spider crawled next to
Taylor's ear, just to look down at Isaac. "Gross. Kill it." Isaac said. Taylor's mouth
dropped.
"There is no way on this earth I'll touch that thing!" Tay shrieked as he
quickly pulled his head away from the spider and shivered. "Let's just get out of here." he
whispered, crouching down and balancing on his toes. He didn't want an uninvited guests to
crawl on him without him excepting it. He shivered again. "Isaac c'mon. Please?" he said,
his felt as if he were about to puke. The spider webs had what looked like a rat's tail,
quite a few bees, some flies, and really big roaches.
"Get down from there. Hurry, I don't want any of them to get in here."
Isaac said, reaching up toward his brother. Just as Taylor slid his leg through the door,
the elevator kicked back. "Oh shit." Ike shrieked, waving his hands in the air for his
brother. "Get down. Taylor get down!" he yelled. Taylor fell back alittle bit, and his hands
fell into nowhere.
"Oh my god." he muttered, when he saw the ended of the elevator path.
"Ike, get me down." he said, his voice cracking twice on the word down. Isaac looked up
through the door, and saw the ending of the pathway.
"Oh shit!" he whispered. "Get down. Just slid through." he said. Taylor
squeezed his eyes shut and slowly pushed himself into the door.
"It's not working." he said, looking around. "My pants are caught." he said,
cracking his voice again. He frantically tried to pull his pants free. His pants were caught
on the latch, and they weren't letting up. He looked up and the ceiling was 3feet or less
away from him. Isaac reached his hands up, and grabbed his brother's legs.
"Get down." he said, tugging on him. The elevator shook suddenly, and Isaac
gave one last tug.
"Oww." Taylor groaned, as his thigh and waist was dragged along the sharp
latch. Isaac managed to pull Taylor down, and Tay was almost fully into the elevator.
"The door, grabbed the door." Isaac scolded, hoisting Taylor up alittle bit.
"I got it, I got it" Taylor said, pulling the door closed. Taylor fell down onto
his brother, and they both flew down onto the floor. The elevator shook again, and
slammed against the top of the pathway. The elevator door opened, and Isaac looked out.
"Let's go. The car's over there." he said, shoving on his brother. Taylor
groaned in pain, as he opened his eyes. Isaac picked his brother up and he looked him over.
"Your leg is a mess. What did you do?" he asked, picking up Taylor's pant leg. From
Taylor's knee, to his waist was a thick red wound. Isaac softly placed his hand to Tay's
leg.
"Ow." Taylor said, slapping his brother's hand away. "Can we please go
home? I have more wounds then someone from World War 2." he said, hoping out of the
elevator and toward the car. Isaac pushing through the almost close door, and caught his
brother.
"C'mon, mom has to look at that." he said, forcing his brother to lean on him
as they made their way to the car.
Autumn smiled at Zac and then looked at me. "It's almost 3:30, why aren't they
home yet?" she asked me. I shrugged.
"I don't know." I laughed. "I go to the mall for hours at a time, but c'mon,
7:00, to 3:00, honestly that's pretty long if you ask me!" I said. Zac smiled, and took a sip
from his soda. We were sitting on my front porch, waiting for Taylor and Isaac to come
home. We wanted to hang out, but it was no fun with just me, Zac and Autumn. I turned my
head toward Autumn. "Do my hair." I said, turning myself around. Zac raised an eyebrow,
and watched as Autumn put my hair in pigtails. My hair was short, but it looked cute with
my fisherman hat.
"Why do girls always do their hair? Can't they just leave it alone?" Zac
asked. Autumn smiled, finished my hair, then reached for Zac's.
"I've seen you in braids once or twice." she said with a laugh. I smiled and
looked off down the road.
"Here they come." I said, seeing Isaac and Taylor turn the corner.
"Finally." Zac and Autumn said at the same time. Autumn undid the braid
she had just finished and followed my gaze. "They look pretty tired." she pointed, as they
pulled into their driveway. Taylor smiled at us, then a painful look came on his face. My
eyebrow's arched and my lip curved instinctively. I got up, and went over to them. Autumn
and Zac following beside me.
"Hey," I said. Isaac waved me away softly, and he wrapped his arm around
Taylor, supporting him. I looked over Taylor. "Oh my god. What happened?" I asked,
walking over to Taylor, and looked up at him.
"Nothing really. I got chased by a bunch of girls, almost killed an elderly
couple, fell head first into an elevator, got caught in the elevator, was forced through the
emergency door," he cleared his voice, and looked at Isaac, "where I came face to face
with a hideous green spider, I was almost squashed when the elevator finally kicked in and
hit the top, I got caught on a queer latch and Isaac pulled me down." Taylor finished,
looking down at his leg. I pondered.
"You almost killed an elderly couple?" Zac asked. "Your so mean!" he said.
Isaac and Taylor both shot him a poisonous look.
"Well, to find out, a photographer caught the whole thing. He was following
us around the mall, and when Taylor pushed me into a girl, she started screaming and about
700 girls chased us." Isaac said, over-eggagerating the girl part.
"I didn't push you..you fell." Tay said, as we all walked into the house.
Autumn closed their door behind us.
"MOM!" Zac yelled. So loudly, China probably heard him.
"Yes dear?" Mrs. Hanson said, walking into the living room. "Oh honey. What
happened?" she said, coming to Taylor's add.
"Oh nothing." Tay said, cringing when he bent his leg. I sat next to him, and
pulled the ripped part away from the 'World War 2' cut. Mrs. Hanson looked at Isaac, and
pulled him into the other room.
"Mom, it wasn't my fault-" I heard Isaac say. Mrs. Hanson quieted him and
told him to go get the gauze, some alcohol, a large bandage, and some other stuff. She
came back into the room.
"Autumn, your mother called us, she needs you home." Mrs. Hanson said. I
pondered. Why?..oh yea, we were outside so we didn't answer the phone..opps. I thought to
myself, shrugging. Autumn said her good-byes and left. Zac sat next to Taylor, and looked
at him.
"That hurts huh?" he asked, leaning over and looking at Taylor's left leg,
the leg I was sitting next to.
"Not really. But you know what hurts more?" Tay said, his lips twitching.
"What?" I asked, running my fingertips over his hand. He slid his hand onto
mine, and I held his hand.
"Isaac made me rip my favorite pants." he laughed. They're my favorite pants!
I thought to myself with a laugh.
