A Thank You to my Dad

    ROBERT W. TIETGE
    Born on Earth ~~ March 6, 1927
    Reborn in Heaven ~~ April 21, 1998

    Dear Dad,
I want to thank you for all the wonderful years
we had together and for everything you ever gave me.
You gave me the courage to be the person
who I am today, your daughter.
You taught me everything and kept me safe.
I knew if you were here I never had to be
afraid of anything, you could fix it.
Mom and Sue and I were always "Your Girls"
and we still are, though we are alone
without you. We try so hard to keep each
other going, but we are lost without you.
Someone told me that you always tried to make
everything perfect for us and now you have gone
to Heaven to be there waiting for us once more.
    I hold onto that thought.
Jim and the boys miss you everyday.
I know that you are with them wherever they go.
I know that you were watching over them when
they passed their road test (since when is it
sunny and warm in Rochester in December?).
I look at them and see you and hear you in their voices.
They have your love for music and your sense of humor.
You are the only Grandpa they ever had and I am so
glad they had you for 16 years. I know how special
they are to you too. You bragged so much about your
    special twin grandsons.
    We'll be okay Dad.
We have your strength to keep us going. And we have the
strong love and family that you and Mom gave to us.
We watch out for each other, just like you told us to do.
I know that you are with me always, I feel your love
and I thank God for it each and every day.
I'll take care of things just like I promised you.
You have my love forever and ever.
    Your loving daughter,
    Linda
