MOTHER

When I was young my Mommy said

Clean your room and make your bed.

Learn everything you can in school

And life is based on The Golden Rule.

Be kind and friendly and do your part

Be true in giving from your heart.

As I grew older and had some doubts

Mom always figured those things out.

In life you see my dearest one,

You have to learn to have some fun

Sometimes you'll laugh, or cry with pain

For these emotions you cannot tame.

Just take the good times with the bad

Forgive and forget and don't be sad.

The greatest gift a Mother's due

Is seeing you grow and remembering too.

The lessons taught by her with care

Instilled in you, there all right there.

She sees the love she gave to you

Returned to her in all you do.

A Mother's lessons come from the heart

The day will come when you'll play her part!
