Radio Call-Sign Designators
This is for the city of Tulsa,Tulsa Police Department. The following method of designator assignments is designed to enable a lister to identify from a call sign, the rank and assignment of the call sign user, The designator will consist of a letter indicating the division or squad, shift (for uniform divisions), and rank.
Chiefs will use "R" followed by a one digit number. Majors and Lieutenants will use their division administrative section's designator followed by a one digit number for Majors, and a two digit number starting with a five for Lieutenants. Sergeants will use a two digit number ending in zero and Corporals a two digit number ending in nine.

NOTE: Due to the problem of confusion with emergency radio 10-codes, numbers 24, 33, 63, and 64 chould not be used as radio designators.

R1-Chief
*1=Major
*50=Admin/Invest Lieutenant
*51=Shift One Commander
*10=First Shift Sergeant
*19=First Shift Corporal
*101=First Shift unit assigned to BEAT 01
BEATS
Each Uniform Division Squad has six beats.
One officer patrol its beat. Also there are many recovery officers in each squad they fill in spots when a beat is open or an officer is in use. An officer also may back someone in another beat.
