A ship that made good average passages out and home was the New Zealand Shipping Company’s full-rigger Rakaia, 1,022 tons, which was built for the company in 1873 by Blumer and Company. The Rakaia made just one voyage to the Bluff, arriving here on 14 January 1886, in the command of Captain Forsdick, taking 98 days to complete the passage.Back to the Bluff Passenger Ships Page.
As yet I have not been able to find any passenger lists for this ship, but I will keep on looking.
