CROSS OR TORTURE STAKE?
Jehovah's Witnesses teach that Jesus did not die on a cross, but on a stake. They claim the Greek word stauros means "a stake," which was a single upright stake without a crossbeam and Jesus' hands were nailed over his head with one nail. Thomas would not believe that Jesus was resurrected and said, "Unless I shall see in His hands the imprint of the nails " (John 20:25). A cross requires two nails, while a stake only requires one. Although this is not an important issue, it is another example how the Watchtower organization is leading people away from the cross.
