The ancient region known as Asia Minor, or Anatolia, is located in southwestern Asia. Bounded by the Black Sea to the north, the Sea of Marmara, the Bosporus, and the Dardanelles to the northwest, the Aegean Sea to the west, the Mediterranean Sea to the south, we know it today as Turkey.

Cities in Asia Minor most familiar in the Bible are Alexandria Troas, Assos, Attalia, Antioch, Colossae, Derbe, Ephesus, Iconium, Laodicea, Lystra, Miletus, Patara, Pergamum, Philadelphia, Sardis, Smyrna, Tarsus, and Thyatira.
