Corinth is located about 50 miles / 80 kilometers west of Athens, on the narrow isthmus that connects the southern section of Greece, known as the Peloponnesus, to the Greek mainland. Its name has become well-known to Christians from the two New Testament epistles that the apostle Paul wrote to the church there - First and Second Corinthians.
